I agree with you on Dana's antics, but look who got the majority of the calls. Dan's "oh gee, golly" approach doesn't seem to be working. Watch how winning coaches work the sidelines and then watch Dan's approach. Do you see a difference? I do.
Yes; it can happen. I appreciate your positive spin but I think we should expect and demand better.took Porter Moser eleven to get to any postseason tournament, and fourteen to get to the Big Dance (coincidentally it was also the first time his team ever finished above fifth place in the conference regular season) ... it does happen
I thought Andrews was supposed to bang Prim?I threw in the towel on this game at the 13 min mark in the second half, around the same time coach did. If you look at the box score, having not watched the game, you might be surprised either team won by 25. Mo State only made 5 more FGs, rebounds were tied, and the Birds only had 9 TOs. The two major differences? MoSt made 20 free throws to the Birds 9 and shot 58% to the Birds 35%.
I'm not a ref blamer for the outcome of games, especially one that was a 25 drubbing. The fact is, Prim is getting the Krutwig treatment. He initiates contact on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he'll put his shoulder in to you and then throw up a shot to get a call. Think James Harden for a post player. Defensively, he puts his arms straight up and keeps them there, but then puts his chest into the shooter. That was noticeable with Sy. To have a chance, Sy needed to embrace the contact and force the refs to blow the whistle. Instead, he spent a lot of time fading away from the basket. These are the exact same things Krutwig did, more so defensively. Muller mentioned in the post game that he's going to have to ask the head of officials how teams are supposed to guard Prim when he is allowed to do what he does.
Schmitt was the true 5 man the Birds brought in to counter guys like Prim. He's been okay, just needs more weight and to embrace being a banger. It's tough when you're giving up 20-30 lbs in the post. We talked about it during round 1 against Mo State, Prim has slimmed down from last year but no way is he only 5lbs bigger than Sy. He's listed at 235 and Sy at 230. Ryan is listed at 225 but also is two inches taller than those guys.
Just overall a really, really bad game. Glad the team doesn't have to dwell on it and plays another game here in about 32 hours.
That's one thing I think Dana learned from Greggggg. No mercy.I also thought Dana was running up the score by keeping the press on til late in the game.
Was wondering the same thing. If it works (flopping) why not try it?Is this thread really evolving into making the refs a scapegoat in a 25 point loss??? My goodness… if prims “flopping” gets the refs to call fouls, maybe you should adapt. Why not try it yourself? The real story here is that Prim is on a totally different level than any big man in a redbirds uniform. HCDM has had plenty of time to devise a scheme to slow him down, yet unable to.
You think flopping is new??Was wondering the same thing. If it works (flopping) why not try it?
Muller would have been the last NFL head coach to adopt the forward pass.
Someone please mercy kill this program.
Not what I said. You think flopping is new??
Not what I said.
I said if flopping works - which does seem to be the case - why is Muller so slow to teach the concept.

Ron Baker is first team all-flop in MVC history.Who remembers Professional Flopper Chad Kleine from PU?
Sometimes he did even get touched.
Mainly because, more times than not, he looked like he was tripping over his own feetLast year we had our flop man in Dusan, but he usually did not get the call.
It's called gamesmanship.Because its supposed to be a technical foul according to the NCAA. If we teach flopping and our players get caught then do you complain about that as well and say why are we teaching flopping if you get called for a technical foul?
Captain Infer. So you’re saying that by teaching flopping Dan would be a good coach.
He helps in the recruiting area. That's it. And I decided that. Got an issue with it, take it up with me.Captain Infer.
I'll bet your a blast at parties...correcting friends' grammar, making guests take their shoes off before coming inside, polishing your "keep off the grass" sign, etc.
I'm guessing it's highly likely that the same people that anointed you "staff member" are the same people that extended Mullers contract.
