He Knows!!
and he better know that he is going from a non-diverse university (85% black/african american) to a university that is considered very diverse however UIC black/african american student population is only 8%. Hispanic is the largest group at uic with 28%. Though in Chicago the uic culture will be very different. I hope he ends up there. I just do not see a good fit and believe he will struggle. ... yea I am rooting against him given how he treated ISU!

You'd think hiring Coach Jones would ruffle some feathers at ISU and the MVC. His program refused to cooperate in our investigation and rejected the results. If the MVC is okay with this, then they are stupid and have little respect for ISU. Also, remember that Jones said he would never talk to Pedon again. There are good natured rivalries and I would love to have one with UIC. This would not be that. This would be very bad for the MVC unless there is serious reconciliation.
Does the MVC get the chance to approve or reject a potential hire? Based on the article linked in this thread, I think it could be possible UIC forgot or wasn't aware of the Horton (non) incident, results of the investigation, and that Jones refused to participate. I get the sense they were ready to offer him the job and then this was brought to their attention.

As Phantom points out, to the 3k loyal fans that consistently attend games, Jones damn near equals Gregggg Marshall in level of disdain, immediately. I can already hear the announcer, "In his first year at the Helm of the Flames, Robert Jo-" "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO." Until our starting line up gets announced and then Redbird goes back to being the library it has become.

If Jones came back and I was a student, with an actual section, oof. That would be a rough few hours for Jones. I for one, would be for him coming in. It'd put a jolt into the ISU-UIC match up and make it more than a match up of what has become a perennial Thursday night game in STL. The best part about it, unless he took most his guys with him, the UIC players wouldn't understand why the game matters so much.

That seems like a bit of a strange choice, but I hope it works out for them.

The amount of bullsheep rumors regarding the hiring of a coach is beyond ridiculous. Not indicting anyone here, I realize you're just passing along social media "gems."

I think some of it may be coach’s agents floating their names out there, looks good on them if schools are considering them for hire. Could give them ammo to get an extension or more money at current school, or put on other schools radars if not already

With the way Jones tells stories, wouldn’t surprise me if he was the source.

Or UIC listened to concerns about Jones from multiple sources and decided to go another direction. Very glad the sources had the guts to talk - far too often today, it seems taboo to call a jerk - a jerk.
