When I saw the score I figured, "Oh, it was a rout the entire game." Then you look at the box.... holy cow! Birds were down 10-3 headed into the 8th, scored seven runs to tie it up, both teams scored once in the 9th, both sides blanked in the 10th, and then the Birds put up 11....11!!! in the top of the 11th. Definitely one of the craziest scores I've seen in baseball.
It also seems rare that a team out scores their hits but both teams did here. Belmont only had 7 hits but scored 11 runs. Even more lopsided, the Birds scored 27 runs on just 16 hits. Belmont did have four errors, but crazy, crazy game.

Nice start for the Birds - a 3 game road sweep vs Belmont (granted Belmont picked 7th out of 10 in the conference pre-season) but impressive start for Coach Holm. Next up a 4 game road trip to Central Arkansas (who just lost 2 of 3 at home to Bradley).

Very Good start for the Birds and Coach Holm - 3-0 vs Belmont and outscored the Bruins 51-20 in the three games!!!!
I certainly hope that Central Arkansas's baseball field is not as hideous as their football field - purple and gray striped - terrible.
