I don't have current plans for this, but the forum software does support this so I thought I'd ask.

You would have to have an account registered and logged in as that account. Visitors who are not logged in are always going to get ads. Sorry.

I don't like but also don't mind the Ads too much, but I wouldn't want to pay. I do like that you can split the solution - that will ensure we don't lose participation over being forced to make a decision .. so I like the idea of paying to avoid ads, while keeping the ads for those who don't want to pay.

FYI, I'm also willing to donate to quinn as needed .... kudos for a job well done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I may give the option for any one that wants to, they can. Obviously wouldn't be a requirement and the only benefit to paying would be no ads. Every thing else would remain the same.

I'd be happy to pay/contribute. If you want to go this path, I would suggest a model that has a minimum donation but allow anyone that wants to contribute more to do so. There will of course be people that are unwilling to pay both because of personal financial reasons and also those that are lurkers and trolls but this should balance out.

I know running a page like this is a significant effort of both financial resources and time and greatly appreciate you and before that, Brian for being the stewards and caretakers of this community.

One model I have familiarity with is Patreon (link), you can build an online community there or incorporate their tools to receive donations and prompts during sign up. You could also find another tool with a prompt on the banner ad that invites people to contribute to Redbirdfan.

Depending on price, I would probably pay just to help out. Ads are not overwhelming so doesn’t really bother me. If the “paywall” come with some extras, like additional interviews, meet ups at events, etc., that would be nice but not necessary. Appreciate the effort this takes to put together.

I'd happily pay a set fee per year while you keep the ads. I don't know if it's a hassle for you but I don't mind them. That way you make more money.

Ok since it's optional, I went ahead and implemented this.

If you'd like to remove ads from the site, you can for just $20 a year. Go to: https://www.redbirdfan.net/community/index.php?account/upgrades and follow the prompts. I can take Paypal or if you want to use a credit card, you can use Stripe.

The charge is reoccurring unless you cancel it.

If you have any questions let me know. No pressure at all to do it, you'll just keep getting the ads like always. This only removes ads while you are logged in with an account.
