UNI transfer stays in the Valley and will join the Redbirds. The 6'5, 185lb guard joined his hometown team has a redshirt for the '21-22 season. As a rs freshman, he was on the All MVC Bench team, Third Team MVC Scholar Athlete, and averaged 7.4 ppg 36% from 3. This past season, he MVC Scholar Athlete honorable mention, scoring 4.7 ppg and 43% from 3. He scored a season high 18 at North Texas, going 4-7 from 3. He has two years of eligibility.

Career against the Redbirds:
7 min, 0 points, 0-3 from 3
29 min, 9 points, 2-6 from 3, 1 rebounds, 3 assists, 0 turns, 2 steals
21 min, 0 points, 0-6 from 3, 1 rebound, 1 steal,
11 min, 0 points, 0-1 from 3, 1 block, 1 steal.

Love the signing. Now we need a big with the final spot. Happy both signings are bigger guards, from a height perspective.

I'm glad to have Mr. Wolf, and in Pedon I trust (I may not have much company with that around here!). If Pedon thinks he can help, I'm okay with it. I'd say his stats are "promising", but not eye-popping at this point. He hit just about one 3 per game this year. We'll need more than that to be helpful. Let's say he didn't get much PT at UNI and if he gets more, and gets more opportunity in the offense, he'll do more. Nice HS stats.

I'm not a big fan of "recruiting over" somebody or running guys off. But if I were one of our "shooting" guards from last year I might be looking at that portal right about now. Incoming freshman guard who appears to be a scorer, and 6'7 wing who can shoot too. 2 incoming guard transfers who appear to be scorers - seeing the floor's gonna be tougher. Not sure Davis fits the profile of shooting guard, but two guys, especially Skunberg, at about the same size who can score, makes it a little tougher for him too.

Appears Lieb is staying? That seem like what's happening? Coach needs to hit BIG with the BIG we all hope is on the way from the portal. I'm hoping for the DII guy from Northern State, Jacksen Moni, but somebody from DI who's got a track record would be okay too.

Welcome to the team. Based on his numbers against us vs the field, it seems Pedon knows his weaknesses and his strengths. Like that we brought in 2 guards with height so far.

Seems like he lost playing time because of Heise's return from injury in 2023-24. Tough luck there not getting much time with improved efficiency.

Welcome Landon! I love the size we are gathering at guard. I am still hoping another player (from my personal list) goes into the Portal.

Clearly we need a rebounder to complement Chase who can ideally give us 9-10 ppg with the occasional breakout game. Glad that we improved our outside shooting (I hope) but we need inside strength and rebounding. We can’t depend on Lieb to consistently be that guy.
He’s talking about the elephant in the room. And it isn’t a big man.

Maybe there is just 1...
How many elephants can a sub-.500 one-and-done Thursday team have? Didn’t one elephant (Foster) already wander off seeking greener grazing pastures?

Is it at least possible we can fill our room with more promising elephants if/when the current ones get hauled off by a superior circus? Perhaps our Gamma Phi’s hay bales can attract an overlooked elephant who has all the winning traits but his big ears scared off the Ringling Brothers.

I also recall a movie in which a Ukrainian elephant unlocked his potential once his handlers learned to speak his language.

Maybe we can entice some runaways

Speaking of Ukrainian talent I hope the football team can get some field goal portal help
