Anytime you have a sport that requires running and quick pivots, there is a risk of a tear of some sort. You can plant and something buckles. You can land from a jump the wrong way. It’s like injuries can happen in tennis. Your “contact” is going to be colliding with a teammate unless you run into a static object going for a ball or land on an opponent’s foot by the net.Yes, she did against UIC. So they lost UNI/Drake weekend with her, then they have lost 4 in a row without her.
Is this the third year in a row with a major injury? Just crazy in a non-contact sport.
We have some extremely embarrassing set losses in there. Players can be important to the team, but losing an All-Conference player can’t explain some of them.
Recruiting is going to be key going into the off-season. As is our staff’s approach to the non-con, as Matters’ comments about sacrificing those matches for conference success hasn’t paid off overall.
