As we get closer to March Madness, just checking to see if any Redbirds make it out to Vegas for the first and second rounds? Our group, mainly comprised of Redbird alums, started out about 12 years ago with 4. Last year, we had 15, but we have expanded our base to include NIU, Marquette, Arizona, etc. We always have a great time and if anyone is interested to join us, we would be happy to have you jump in. Of course, there is the small matter of the application, then the physical, mental and stress test that would have to be completed by the end of January so everything can be submitted to the selection committee.

If anyone is interested please feel free to PM me. Also, there is an application fee of $1,000, and yes, we accept Bitcoin.

I would join, but I can’t figure out how to get the Bitcoins out of the coin slot on my phone.

Soak your phone in hot water for 1 hour and dig them out with a screw driver.
This is what Sgt. Hulka recommends.

We, also, happily take cold, hard cash. Please remember the application fee is non-refundable, but I know a guy.

No sure you want Slade on your Vegas team, though resourceful. Once upon a time on the way to Loyola his windshield fluid magically stopped working. Vision was practically zero and a fine gentleman in the passenger seat was forced to hang out the window and clean off the windshield. That's how I remember it, anyway.

I'm not concerned about a clean windshield in Vegas. We need the resourceful types, you know, the types who can provide intel across numerous conferences. I remember one fine gentleman one particular fine evening in Vegas...nope, have to stop. What happens in Vegas, usually gets posted on social media, but not this time.

My group has gone for the past 13 years. The Golden Nugget is our spot.

Where do other Redbirds go?

We have a secret location just off the strip. We have been going there for years and get room discounts, plus on Saturday we rent one of the two poolside cabanas and hang out there watching the action. The sportsbook is about a one minute walk from either there or the bar we hunker down in for a majority of the time. I can PM you the info, but it's such a great set up we don't like to discuss it in a public forum. And if I did, I would have to deal with the wrath of TPGUY, and no one wants that.

I like to call it The Rambler Revelation.

Driving up to Northwestern Recon managed to outrun a tornado. His Civic barely held onto the road; I am eternally thankful for the load-bearing Taco Bell wrappers at my feet that kept his tires firmly planted.

Reggie Redbird did the same! Though in much more of a vehicle than a Civic.
