Im interested to see how the offense/scheme looks to be a spread offense. Moving without the ball and ball movement hasn’t been a strength up to this point with the staff. Those two things are even more vital to get the quality shots they’re wanting in an offense like this.
My biggest concern based on the last 2 years. The signees don't mean much if we can't put them in a position to succeed. Our offensive scheme HAS to improve, and that includes players and coaches. One thing that does encourage me, though, is Johnny and Chase and their ability to see the floor. Those 2, I believe, are a good foundation. Enjoy them THIS year, folks.

We can probably give up a lot of hope of crashing the offensive boards. Playing 4 and 1, we are more or less going to strand 1 guy in to rebound while the wings pull back to defend. Even if we designate a wing to crash we still likely aren't going to have a lot of success.

Defensively we are going to need to make sure our wings crash the boards. Their first instinct is going to be to start running down the floor after a shot is up to possibly start a fast break, but we will need everyone to crash the boards defensively. Make sure they know you can't start a break without the ball.
When you shoot like we did last year, crashing the boards is a must.

As far as bigs and the NIL go, my assumption is that their premium $$$ is way higher than guards simply based on the amount of bigs vs guards\stretch guys which will make them even more less likely to fall in our laps. That may be the driving force behind Pedons change in approach.

As far as the outlook on incoming players, its always a crap shoot. Nobody expected the impact of Foster. Or the Spanish Inquisition for that matter.

Speaking of Foster and bigs and signing, etc., he hasn't landed anywhere yet, right? Did I miss it? Maybe he comes back because he isn't that big a ticket?

Not much noise on Twitter regarding his recruitment in the last few weeks. Last I saw he has about 20-25 schools that have reached out.

I know Minnesota was on that list of contacts, but they seem to have filled their big portals. Guess you can't have too many but maybe the NIL "runs out" at some point?

Minny signed another big man this week:

Ex-Texas San Antonio forward Trey Edmonds is giving the Gophers men’s basketball team the size it needs with a commitment Monday to play for Minnesota next season. The 6-10, 255-pound Edmonds picked the Gophers over Mississippi and Cincinnati after an official visit. He averaged a career best 7.0 points and 5.8 rebounds in 32 games last season. Edmonds started his college career playing 53 games at Utah Tech in two seasons. The Colorado native started all 32 games in the frontcourt for UTSA. He scored in double figures 11 times last season. He said a deciding factor was Minnesota selling him on the chance to showcase his game beyond being an inside presence.“The coaches were making it very clear I would have freedom,” Edmonds said Monday. “They felt like how I play and the development I’m making in my game fit in perfect with how they play.”
