Couple notes from the late evening practices about Ndaiye, he can really shoot from outside and he constantly gets the defender to buy his shot fake, and fly by, and then usually hits it. Does get muscled around though inside.

Not surprised by the muscles around piece. Few freshman can handle that. Hopefully he can build on his frame better than the previous Ndiaye.

I have a feeling it's Rey who's muscling him around....

Rey is muscling everyone around....Hes the thickest on the team by at least 20 lbs.

I'm reading Ndaiye being a very high level version of John Wilkins. Remember him? A 6'11'' SF who was just awful down low, but could hit the 3 and the mid range jumper.

If Ndaiye ends up being what Wilkins SHOULD have been, I'm all about it.

Seems like either a redshirt year for Ndaiye or DM has not seen him play enough yet to form an opinion.

Hawkins/McIntosh 2.0. I remember Muller not saying much about either during their first summer on-campus. He was also not asked about AN. Surely, that is part of the reason he didn't share any information. Maybe when the golf tournaments are done, other local media will call Muller up and ask. Classes start in less than a month, Muller should know where his eligibility stands. I do think a RS year will be good for him. All of the video I saw was showed that he was raw. We have never had a guy with a skill set like his. Comparatively, I would say a more aggressive, taller, better ball handling version of John Wilkins. Nothing we can do about the grad-transfer situation coming in to play at the end of his 4th year here.

Just saw Fisher and ndaiye crossing main St. Ndaiye didn't look as small as I thought. Still not going to be much inside though.

Do we then have the answer for Krutwig???

This is a good question. Rey is prob going to be north of 250 come league games. If Krutwig tries to impose his considerable heft against Rey, who looks like he is about 5% body fat, SOMEONE is getting called for a foul. Same goes the other way with Rey under the rim.

Long story short, it is going to be a car crash every time. Get that kid working on hitting from the line. If Rey can be a career 70% FT shooter here, ISU will add 5-7 points a game vs replacement.

Krutwig is an different animal. Yes, Krutwig is bigger than most in the MVC, but how many times have you seen him just back someone all the way in for an easy bucket? Pretty rare. When Krutwig goes back to the basket, it it his footwork that gets him the points. He's quick down there.

Between Rey's size and sheer athleticism, he should be able to match Krutwig defensively. Don't expect much offensively yet and keep in mind Krutwig's experience is about 1000x more than Rey's. Is Rey the ANSWER for Krutwig, maybe. Is he our top choice, yes. Very much. I've heard great things about Rey's work ethic this summer. One of the hardest working guys out there.

Krutwig's foot movement is top shelf stuff. He looks kinda chubby which I think causes defenders to underestimate his quickness. Pretty smart player too, and all that as a freshman. I wonder how many big schools wish they had recruited him more? At least Rey is only giving up 20 pounds to him instead of 40 to 50.

Krutwig: Footwork, leverage, basketball smarts, and believe it or not...he's an athlete in there.

There's always a place for a guy like Krutwig...at least on my team. Just a pleasure to watch.

Krutwig wins with his leverage and smarts. Banging with K won't solve him.
