Boy I hope not, but wouldn’t be surprised. I know Volleyball got hit bad with injuries, but the first year of his hire there didn’t go well….We will miss Kristen Gillespie after this season. What a hire by Larry Lyons and Leanna Bordner. Hopefully Brennan has his list ready to go.
I think it’s a matter of where she ends up and not if. From where the program was to where it is now she’s going to have her pick. You’re right though. Soccer / VB / MBB a combined 25-47 isn’t overly inspiring.Boy I hope not, but wouldn’t be surprised. I know Volleyball got hit bad with injuries, but the first year of his hire there didn’t go well….
I think you’ve seen that with programs like Oklahoma State who hired Jacie Hoyt from UMKC. Something tells me fit really matters for KG and that she isn’t going to jet to the first school who offers her a $100k raise. If it’s one program we’ve shelled out more for to compete with your lowest-level P5 jobs, it’s WBB. With the huge divide, a coach has to ask: do I want to be top of my conference and build a great program and wait for a higher-level job, or do I want to jump for say $200k-$300k more over 4 years but then get canned when I can’t compete with programs with much more talent and resources invested.Well, I think Coach G is terrific, and college sports are nuts these days, but it seems like its still just a little early yet for her to be collecting big time invites. No question she's turned ISU around. BUT -- she's never reached 20 wins at ISU (pretty sure she will this year), never won the conference (or finished even 2nd), blah blah blah. Seems to me another year or two of what's going on this year will be needed. But you never know . . . .
I'm fine with her fulfilling her contract which was extended last spring, and actually let's see it extended again!
