As everyone here should know , scholarships aren't a four-year deal. It's a year by year almost day-by-day contract between the student athlete and the University. The university has the ability to pull that contract under any circumstance they find necessary based on the actions of the student-athlete.
That being said, I believe that the NCAA should also take in consideration that contract that is binding between the student-athlete and said University. The transfer portal rule which came out of the Rona need to be reviewed and put limitations or dates that they can be applied. As in the case of a UCF receiver, that been sidelined for a year and giving a full-ride scholarship after the spring game where he found out he was 100% decided to go into the portal. That undermines the coaching staff as well as the university about the flexibility of scholarships and how they use them.
I would like to see the portal be used properly and logically in respect to universities and coaching staffs in the future. As some of us have experienced, we had a lot of rules that we had to follow and Obey to maintain our scholarships. It is called respect. Seems to be lacking.
