Hopefully attendance stays the same (or gets better) in the college league and the local team can be built back up. Having the same or similar revenue, without having to pay salaries, I would imagine to be a pretty significant amount of money to do promotions at the games, or whatever other marketing to get people to the game.

BB Fan, yes it will be similar. They haven't announced which league yet but the Northwoods, Prospect and Coastal league have been mentioned.

Here is the article about it: https://www.pantagraph.com/sports/baseball/cornbelters-eye-smooth-transition-to-college-league/article_77b42b36-1806-5c1d-8558-b1524b2971a5.html
I like that they're looking at Madison as an example. MadBird would know better but Madison and BN can't be that different.

Looking at those photos, it would appear they were targeting a younger demographic. Looks like mostly college aged kids. I wonder when that picture was taken- when students are in school at any of the Madison colleges or not.

I would say the Madison Mallards target a broad audience, all ages, but there is much drinking promoted in the stadium. Large sections where you get a wrist band and drink and eat - $30-40 depending on the night all you can eat and drink. Really. Some "high-top" type seating. Lots of stuff for the kiddies too, not just a total drunken brawl. They get 5-6000/night regularly, by far the best in the league. Its a fairly big deal in Madison (I'd say much larger than Blo/No, about 250K in Madison and 500K in the county).

Good friends of ours were host parents to players for many years, and had season tickets, so we've gone now and then. Depending on how the local media play it, it can be very attractive to market the decent players, the guys from the SEC or Big 10+ or Big East. Our friends had a kid from LSU, another from Creighton, a few from Purdue, etc. You get a mix on most teams, guys from all divisions and even JC, but there's good stories among them.

Good question, I don't know. If not, I hope there are next season. Talk about not having to go far.
