It boils down to looking at the shots the Birds take vs the shots Ball State gets. How many open looks- feet squared up, have they got from the left corner. How many times have the Birds taken a shot where they were feet squared up-caught the pass-and shot?

The Birds play defense like a bunch of guys that haven’t played much D1 basketball, no surprise and I think they will get better. My concern is an offensive scheme that doesn’t appear to have changed since last year. I was happy to see Dusan getting a few looks in the paint. Going In and out would give them some better jump shot looks.

i do think much of our mediocrity is on Dan. Think of the recruiting misses over the years; Athletic kids that are fundamentally weak (or incapable of adapting) will not contend. It is damning that Bradley has risen while we are a marginal D1 team. In the Valley we may compete against Evansville this year but who else?

2 best players are transfers you are in trouble. Dusan and Strong are no doubt the two best players on the team.

Horne, Reeves and Boyd are bad defensive players. They have made zero progress from last year. We can’t win until that changes.
