I know this is a little off topic, but it is Football related.
Saturday Rochester will play for it’s 8th IHSA State Championship since 2010. They are 7-0 in State Championship games (44-2 overall) since 2010!
However, those have all been in 4A.
This year, due to the teachers strike, Rochester had to be bumped up to 5A. The only thing I know about St Rita (other than Ed Farmer being a St Rita Alum) is that growing up in the Chicago area I heard a lot about them in the Chicago Catholic League. And I know that the Chicago Catholic League is always tough.
Rochester’s lone loss this season was to the second best team in 6A Chatham Glenwood. Unfortunately Chatham Glenwood had to play possibly the best team in the State (East St Louis) in the semi-finals.
Weather forecast for Saturday will not be favorable for Rochester and it’s fast pace offense. Not sure what St Rita does on offense, so not sure how it will affect their offensive game plan.
So what are your predictions for the Rochester vs St Rita 5A Championship game Saturday @ 10AM (this start time will be an adjustment to the normal Friday 8PM start Rochester is accustom to in 4A)

After Rochester takes a 42-7 lead, St Rita scores 21 to make it look close and loses 42-28

Guess that answers the question about how Rochester would do if they had to play in 5A

Eight State Championships in Ten years. Impressive numbers for Derek Leonard and his Rochester Rockets program!!
