QB Davis - MVFC Newcomer of Week again

To be honest, his newcomer of week award for STX game seemed pretty hollow ... he played ok (125 yards, 1 TD passing, 1 rushing) .. but against an NAIA team we blew out.

But he won it again this week for playing a very good game against a team worth bragging about this time ... 17 of 23 for 317 yards, 4 TDs and 0 Picks. Considering his slow start in Q1, finishing 17 of 23 is very impressive once he warmed up and gained some confidence with couple deep balls.

Surprised SIU QB Straub didn't make list .. he finished with 2 picks trying bring his team from behind .. but he put on a clinic against a decent FBS team for 3 quarters before SIU faded. SIU was a 4-7 team a year ago ... though they were better than their record.

USD Simmons threw for 460 yards and ran for 80 ... albeit against a weak Northern Colorado team. But there may be life after Streveler.
