Good for Porter!
Muller couldn't get hired at IWU at this moment.Hell no. And no way in hell.
Nope. You misread his posts.
The points he made were absolutely correct, and are echoed throughout the fan base of people who no longer post here because of what he described.
I never said anything about DJ not leaving. My only comment, and I will always stand by this is that I believe certain types of posts should remain off limits on a message board from fans, especially around speculation or rumors relating to them in any way, regardless of whether it's about them leaving, grades, personal/private life issues. I believe any information about these kids should come from them and them only, certainly not from anonymous "fan" that spreads rumors before they are ready to come out. It wreaks of tabloid media gossip and those that post content like this I look at just like paparazzi which is to say, in the very lowest form of person on the internet. I understand speculation and people being upset with a coach and sharing their discontent with the program (although constantly repeating the same talking points over and over gets old and does nothing positive) but not the kids. If anyone wants to spread rumors, my only ask is to show your name and face instead of hiding behind a made up screen name.
I do remember saying I didn't think Porter would leave as I know he has ties to the Chicago area and for him, I didn't (and don't) perceive his potential decision to be just about the money itself so will admit that I'm somewhat surprised. I would not have made a bet on it either way though.
I love Porter and am really happy for him. Always enjoyed connecting with him when he was at ISU and felt he'd be a good coach. He has a passion for the game and an electrifying personalty that a lot of people love. He still has the spirt of a young kid that loves to play the game. When I last lived in Bloomington years ago, I remember signing up right away and attending all of his "Breakfast Club" meetings each week with other ISU fans at (I think) 6:30 in the mornings. I'll be cheering for him at Oklahoma just as I have in his time at Loyola. He's a great person all around.
I never claimed to have any knowledge either way regarding DJ. I'm no longer near as connected as I once was however over the years, whether relating to sports, business or a spouse about to file for divorce, I've had plenty of knowledge of things taking place behind the scenes that were not public and have always believed in allowing any information to unfold from those who are directly involved, at the time they want to share and not before. This is especially important with student athletes whether it's regarding a transfer, grades or many other types of personal issues that may be going on behind the scenes. Again, I never commented on accuracy of the post, I was strictly sharing that these types of posts should not be allowed on Redbirdfan and over the years, whether it was Quinn or Brian (the original Birdfan) going back to the 90s have shared this perspective. So no acknowledgement that the post about DJ transferring was accurate? As an individual that is closely connected to Redbird Athletics, I was just sharing information to the redbird community and fan base. Apparently, I was right on the outcome but wrong for doing so prematurely.
Best Regards

I always kind of wondered if Rose at IWU was ever considered to be on staff at ISU in some capacity. He’s been incredibly successful and a great dude in the community. This is not an endorsement or suggestion for Rose to be the next head coach in any way, shape, or form.Muller couldn't get hired at IWU at this moment.
I’m sure that was a condition of Moser’s

Sources: Loyola Chicago has agreed in principle to hire Drew Valentine as its next head basketball coach. Was an assistant under Porter Moser.
A condition for him quitting?I’m sure that was a condition of Moser’s
I saw that Loyola offered Porter 10 years...2 million a year to stay. He took off anyways. You wonder if they will use that money on the next person?I always kind of wondered if Rose at IWU was ever considered to be on staff at ISU in some capacity. For Moser, I wonder if Williamson or Krutwig decide to use their extra year to play B12 ball?
I have to think the administration at Loyola will want to do everything they can to keep the team and “culture” that’s been built together. Drew Valentine has to be at the top of the list. I believe someone mentioned Mullins from SIU? Not a chance he leaves SIU for the Loyola job.
Muller must just be destroyed with envy and jealousness. Remember how he begged Dayton and OK state for the job with absolutely no success on his resume. The KAC believes he’s loyal to ISU, but he simply couldn’t find someone willing to take him.
You offer 2.2 mil you will get someone with coaching experience! Not on somebody with no head coaching experience.
