So let me get this straight. I'm guessing with a win here or loss there, it's going to be possible to face Valpo, correct? Like day 3? And then face them twice during the season. And then the possibility of facing them during the Valley Tourney in March? So possible to play Valpo 4 times? Ugh. Isn't it Elgin's office responsibility to make sure stuff like this doesn't happen? I can understand the stuff with Tulsa a couple of years ago, at least that is an non-conference opponent. But how would a possible 4 wins against an in conference opponent ever help a Valley team? It doesn't even help out the rest of the conference when they do all those stupid metrics about who beat who and when and you get this or that quad win plus the extra points for walking the other teams mascot if it's a dog. Garbage.

Both coaches and ADs would have had to sign off on this. It’s on the schools in this scenario. If they feel the teams they will get to play are worth the risk, I’m ok with it. I’ll take the Cinci game and an opportunity to play WKU in round 2 versus the minor chance we end up paired vs Valpo.

This happens more frequently in softball or baseball and could even happen in Vb.

Agreed. Looking at the field, you want a game vs. Cincy, then probably WKU/Nevada next. I thought I saw back to Cancun next year (2020). Is that accurate?

Small price to pay to get a shot at Cincy, IMO.

ISU needs to field a team capable of beating Valpo 4 times. And need to win Arch Madness whether that’s accomplished or not.

As tempting as that sounds, I think we’ll choose to travel via air, although it would be nice to avoid the reroute to Miami due to a cracked windshield and the two L’s. Great time overall, hoping the ‘Birds are headed back next year.

I am glad ISU and Valpo are on separate sides of the bracket. I would prefer to play teams, that we don't already have 2 games against on the schedule. FWIW Bowling Green fielded a somewhat competitive team last year. I watched them take Buffalo down to the wire in the MAC tourney.

Looking forward to the game with Cincinnati. An early gauge to what this is team can be.
Not sure what Western Kentucky, Bowling Green, or Nevada will have this year.
