Better be a decent to good high major but it's not horrible. Nevada and ISU will be down. CIncy will be good.

Doesn't make a ton of sense with Valpo and ISU being in the same tournament. Its rare you get teams from the same conference. Hopefully, there is some movement.

We played UNI (or NIU depending on your affinity) in the Big Island Invitational Dan's freshman year

ISU isn’t going to be down.

And you complain too much.

I think we could be down some at the beginning of the season. I think Fisher can mostly replace Phil, and Boyd can replace Evans. Milik will be a big loss, especially in how he not only draws fouls but also makes his free throws. Matt, Rey and Bruniga should improve after this year, so maybe that could help replace him. The big question though is how good Ndyaie will be after a year of practice squadding?

We will lose four important seniors so you can't fault anybody for thinking we'll have lessor year. If we don't then that's a major accomplishment for coach Dan.

Will we be good enough to beat an OVC team that starts 3 freshmen next year? If this is an "up" year, I shudder to think what next year could look like.

Next year backcourt will be better. Copeland and Jefferson will be best backcourt in Valley (close with Indy st). Boyd will be good.

Frontcourt will be solid. Rey, Bruninga, Fisher, Abdou

Add in this year’s role players gaining more experience and we don’t lose too much.

And if nobody thinks they are going to the NBA or thumps their chests after every basket, and actually plays defense, we actually could have the right leadership to beat somebody good.

Looks like in just two games Chastain has went from being second man off the bench on this board, to not being in the top eight or nine next season.

he has looked putrid. he has a shove shot and is undersized inside and slow to boot. ill give him time because of the knee but he also doesn't look like a d1 player so far.

Your basketball wisdom is Wooden'esque. You probably write better poetry than he did, too. Your fire is like Knight's. Except yours shoots out of your ass. Your words are like Kareem's skyhook...the most unstoppable shot in basketball history. Although they do come out of your keyboard mouth like my vomit did back when I was an ISU freshman head submerged in toilet. You are Dean Smith with the secondary fast break - just when we think we survived the wave look out here comes another. Kind of like diarrhea. Explosive diarrhea. You are Krzyzewski's clone in leadership, matter of fact I think he's YOUR clone. Big nose and a Polack! (God bless the Polacks, no offense I love ya!) You also carry the innovation of Naismith, peach baskets and all. Cause brother, what a peach you are and it's a pleasure although i do believe your medulla oblangata is not a medulla oblangata but something more akin to a peach that has gone bad. You, K, Smith, Kareem, Knight and Naismith. Man the company you keep!

I look forward to the day when I can travel for miles and days to finally reach the pinnacle of basketball glory...and that is seeing the etched in mountain stone faces of Krzyzewski, Smith, Kareem, Knight, Naismith...and Jsnhbe1birds.

V Boy, did you intentionally leave Hillsman off, or just forget him? Just not sure if you think he is not going to be that good.

V Boy, did you intentionally leave Hillsman off, or just forget him? Just not sure if you think he is not going to be that good.

I don't know as much about him so I left him out. I have read a lot more about Boyd and sounds like Boyd is very talented and capable of putting up some pretty big numbers on a given night.

Regarding Chastain, I saw him play in high school and saw the game the other night. He looks like he will battle for time with Gassman. He doesn't look like he is lacking in confidence to me.
That said, I don't have any reason to believe he is talented enough, athletic enough or strong enough of a basketball player that he will be be a starter or high up in the rotation. I've been wrong before though. He also has the knee issue.

Here's the thing with all of this though guys.......if you're not a really, really good basketball player, then you really should not be getting on the court at this school. We are a Top 75 basketball program and we could be a Top 40 program. But if guys are getting on the court a lot who are not really really good basketball players then what you get are NITs and 3rd/4th place Valley finishes?

Muller puts Hein and Gassman out there because he can't get Yarbrough to play defense and because he acts like a baby on the court. That, RIGHT THERE, is the difference between Top 40 and Top 75.

So the question for next year is......Will the most talented incoming players....Adbou, Boyd, Fisher, maybe Hillsman......be on the court......or will Hein, Gassman and Chastain be on the court. The latter guys have a role on the team, but if they are playing 25-30 minutes I don't see how we are a contender.
