Big believer in defense. No doubt about it.

But it perplexes me. Why can't a team thrive on both ends?

I would say great defense creates offense but not so much the other way around.

Remember how loud Horton would get back in the day when we were on defense? Now that was a pit.

With few exceptions the top and especially the top of the top do thrive on both ends and in between (transition). Some fans sometimes consider slow tempo teams as only being defensive oriented and that is not necessarily the case.

I agree Timmy. Play good defense and it will create easy baskets. It seems many of our teams in recent years don't start playing intense defense until the shot goes in. That probably explains our inconsistency.

Old school attitude is you can always play good defense even though you will have games where your shooting is off. Control what you can on the court.
