This was another NCAA scam in my opinion. Why should kids have to sit a year? I always have said a Coach can get up and leave and take another job but the players have to sit. It should be the other way around.

I have mixed feelings.
The "uncontrolled" transfer of student-athletes seems nutso to me, chaos in waiting (not really waiting anymore, the transfer portal in hoops is aleady out of control).
But, why should hoops or football, etc. players have to sit out a transfer year when wrestling and volleyball and softball and track athletes don't? All sports should have the same transfer rules.
I'd favor at minimum that if a coach moves on, student-athletes from the "sending" and receiving" schools could transfer w/o sitting out.
Overall, I favor making college athletics LESS like pro sports than more - less money, less movement, etc. Old school, horse already out of the barn, I know, I know.

I still think there should be a limit on number of transfers a program can take each annual year
