I like the signing too. Says he left SIU to find a program with more stability since SIU had the 2 5th year players (who both left now) and lost a number of others. Coach P being able to keep most of our core here is hopefully paying dividends.

Stats don't jump out at you but maybe change of scenery and different offense will bring back some of his HS productivity. Like Kinziger this year, he was a Division 1 first team all-state player.

Banks is a repeat First Team All-State choice by the WBCA as one of the most productive players in the state once again. A two-time Player of the Year in the Big Rivers Conference, he averages 24.7 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per outing.

It's interesting that his playing went down each year at SIU, having said that, welcome Dalton.
I think the above numbers are wrong 1681828562843.png

Welcome to ISU Dalton!!! 70 assists and 39 turnovers his sophomore year and then SIU went out and recruited over Dalton and got Xavier Johnson and Jawaun Newton. If Dalton can be a steady leader at the guard spot with DB, Poindexter and Kinziger coming in then we have a solid group. Dalton is a 70% free throw shooter and his 3 point makes and attempts Freshman year was 16/42 and 14/45 last year. If he can stay in that range with his 3s and get back to 70 assists to 39 turnovers like his sophomore year then this is a good find with the nucleolus we have and the incoming freshman. Welcome again Dalton.

Honestly, I think Dalton was a victim of SIU having 2 guys who thought they were the team. Jones and Domask took way too many shots for their shooting percentages. Jones was 28% from 3 but still took 250 3-pt shots! and neither showed a great tendency to care whether they’re shots were appropriate. . .

Sorry, must be reading the chart above wrong. I was reading 39 for 132. Guess that must be the 3 pt %. On my screen when I go down from FT it says 39 and FTA says 132. Guess it just must appear wrong on my screen.
Looked the same on my phone. Googled his stats to confirm the chart columns were off when viewing on my iPhone.

I read down in Southern Illnois that there was so much churn in the program he was looking for something more stable.

So Jones and Domask are gone. Why is Dalton still leaving? Shouldn't he have been in line to get a lot more PT?
He got no run when Lance Jones was awful. Shooting under 40% from field and under 30% from 3. I’d bail too if that guy was playing 30+ mpg and my minutes were decreasing.

I think the only person who can accurately answer that question is Dalton. It could have nothing to do with basketball; it could have everything to do with SIU; or it could be somewhere in the middle. Unless Dalton addresses the question, we’ll never know the true answer.

You’re no fun. Where’s the baseless conspiracy? You know that’s what we want.

He better get with our FT doctor. If I'm reading that stat sheet correct, a tick under 30%. I wouldn't put the ball in his hands at all, and wouldn't be on the floor for the last 10 min of the game.
I think that chart is not aligned between category and stats.
