BYU, SDSU, UIC, and Ole Miss are about 80-100 teams in front of us. They very well could lose the next four games and 5/6.

Nitty Gritty with more data.

ISU's average opponent NET rating is 185 which is 203rd in the country. Looks like SOS kills us according to the new ranking.

Fundamental issues with the way these are calculated. Double counting some measures, short changing others.

No info on weight given to any category.

Including scoring margin, but capping it at 10.

sigh....

There is only one thing that matters with this data.....1. Bid. League.

Valley teams have not won enough non-con games that have mattered most.

SIU loses to Buffalo and UMass.
ISU loses to Belmont and Georgia
Loyola loses to Furman and BC
Bradley loses to UIC
UNI loses to Old Dominion, UT Arlington, Penn

and so on and so forth.

The scores will probably get a little better (maybe)......but if one or two of your league teams is not crushing it in the noncon, then it brings to whole league down in these ratings.

As with what RPI once did, I think it hammers a team too much for scheduling a "learning" game against a bad team. Then it has no penalty when you schedule a dvision 2 or division 3.

Jesus! That’s brutal.

Also, water under the bridge, but huge lost opportunity against Belmont. Ugh!

1-20 vs 1 AND 2 teams. 11- 7 vs Q3. That tells me the MVC is so far a Q3 quality conference this season. Quite astonishing we the conference hasn't won more even just by chance. 1/20 is 5%. I know the mvc is a Q2 quality conference. It's so bad it's comical.
