I made a point in another thread about the Birds still having an outside chance at a conference championship. I put together some scenarios of potential finishes by the top four of the MVFC . Northern Iowa currently sits at 4-2 with remaining games with Indiana State and Missouri State.
North Dakota State, South Dakota, South Dakota State, and Illinois State all play each other the final 2 weeks of the season. If NDSU loses one game the Conference Championship will be a 6-2 team.
Western will likely finish 5-3, currently 3-3 with games at INST and home against SIU. I think a 6-5 Valley team gets in the playoffs this year. Illinois State would be the only one to do it.
I'm sure I missed some situations here. I did it by hand and didn't review it all that carefully. I know there are some math wizards out there that can better present this.
