Oh wasn't the Horton Fieldhouse game on CBS against Tulsa? They brought in extra lights for that game. Raynard set the tone for the physicality on the court.
The game was on CBS. Verne Lundquist and Irv Brown did the game.

Our tip-off has often been ignored when an 11 AM SEC regular season game ran long.

Folks forget that we were up 9-2 when CBS tuned in for 2008 final. Unfortunately the Birds were outscored 77-40 the rest of the way…
My memory fails me. Was that the Drake game?

It would likely be a poor financial move. Networks want content that is going to drive them ratings. Having us the weekend before gives them more options to show. They do not want competing content. CBS isn’t going to give us a marquis spot Selectiob Sunday weekend when they have a P5 championship to show. It’s the same as MAC football from T-Th.

That being said, I’d play a championship game ar 2 AM on a Wed if it meant breaking our NCAA drought.

With all the streaming options, I would look for a Saturday evening selection weekend championship game start time. One of the “newer” streaming options may be willing to pony up decent money. I would also be fine with a Sunday championship game. Just don’t give the analysts a whole week to knock a 17-1 conference co camps out of the dance.

Networks would never give us priority over a B1G or SEC semifinal. Or even one of their first round games…
