We need to win one more game then Murray State secure the 7 seed and avoid the noon Thursday 8/9 game. They end @ InSU. Would be nice for then to lose WEDS as well for a little breathing room.

Seeing as the combination of Belmont/Illinois State/Murray State/Northern Iowa did not play all of those others twice, the tie-breaker would drop to NET ranking (and we are fourth among those four):

119 Panthers
131 Bruins
146 Racers
170 Redbirds

As a result, the five seed appears to be off the table; the six seed would either require either a three-way tie with the Bruins and Racers or a two-way tie with the Panthers and the Racers to be behind us; seven appears to available minimally with a two-way tie with the Racers.

The team has shown they are much more capable lately without a talented Burdord. Hoping burford comes back NOW so they can all play a couple games together and ideally be aligned playing competitively, as they have been, heading into stl. Do not like thought of burford returning once the regular season is finished (frankly even with one game remaining) and the team having to adjust to his return all the while playing win or die games. I personally want Lieb back too as he can provide, if needed, a few valuable minutes playing defense and rebounding.

I didn't know there was a requirement that the tied teams had to have all played twice to trigger the round-robin...ISU is 4-1 against those teams.

The 7 seed isn’t “minimally” available IMO, I think it’s better than 50/50 at this point. We’ll be favored vs Missouri State and Valpo and Murray will be pretty big dogs at InSU. We just need to win one more game than them. A Belmont win @ Murray could take a little pressure off of us too

I didn't imply that seven was the best we could get, simply stated we would (minimally) need to be in a tie with solely Murray State (even better to finish ahead of them). A Belmont win takes any six seed possibility away.
