What a great win!! 7 wins will get up in. iSU is one of the top defenses and offensives in FCS. But I was happy to see all you staying home in the season ticket holders section and the vets I bought tickets for loved the game I would hope.. Next week will be a win and the road warriors will begin in the playoffs. No need to have a home game and y,all don't show up. I am sure it will be to cold for y'all.

You do realize ISU cannot host a 1st round play-off game, even if they wanted to??

NDSU finishes off SIU to improve to 7-3.
Here are where things stand:
TeamRecordNext up
SDSU10-0 (in)N/A
USD8-2 (in)N/A
NDSU7-3 (in)N/A
SIU6-4 (in with a win?/out with a loss)INST
UND6-4 (in with a win/out with a loss)ILST
YSU6-4 (in with a win?/out with a loss)MUST
UNI6-4 (in with a win/out with a loss)NDSU
ILST6-4 (hopefully in with a win?/out with a loss)UND
Need a loss from 2 out of SIU, YSU, UNI, and UND to have a shot. Good news is, we only need help from one team to vastly improve our chances since we play UND. So we need to beat UND and 1 of UNI, YSU, or SIU needs to lose. YSU and SIU should be heavily favored, so it may come down to ISU vs UND and UNI vs NDSU. Not as long of a shot as I feared, but I could see the committee taking only 5 MVFC teams if we are in position to be the 6th. In that case, we will likely need some help on the bubble at large.

Definitely a good day. Did not see that UNI result, especially the margin, coming.

Look forward to Fourth breaking down the bubble as I’m sure he’s following it closely today/tonight:

"ISU head coach Brock Spack said he could not confirm if Annexstad would miss the Redbirds’ season finale at North Dakota and the coach declined to share specifics about the injury, citing “privacy” concerns."

Spack is acting really weird about Zack's injury lol. I think it's pretty safe to assume that Rittenhouse will be starting next Saturday.

I was told Zach was walking very slow and gingerly during senior acknowledgement. Spack knows he's not playing next week. How many times has he spoke on others injuries and we not see them on the field dress out or on the sidelines ?

The Redbirds dominated offensively and defensively. Kicking still looking scruffy. The linebacking corps is looking like a special unit (Gaines, Abdullah, McCoy and Niekamp). I was pleased that Gaines was not among players saying good-bye (knock wood). Safety Gearhart is leaving and that bites. He made a timely hit that forced an interception.

The O-Line and Blakemore had their way. Rittenhouse is off to a good start auditioning for the '24 QB job. We will undoubtedly look at the portal for a QB, but that doesn't mean that Tommy gives up the job. He'll face a tougher test at North Dakota. He's an exciting player and I'm very eager to see how he does up there.

I was sad to see Gearhart leaving, but IMO he will be replaceable. Need to hold onto our secondary and add some pieces in the portal. It hurt losing Larry Tracy, Iverson Brown, Braden Price, and Franky West prior to the end of their eligibility last year. Couple that with losing Dabney and Lamont to graduation made for an inexperienced and subpar secondary for Spack standards. I'd love to see how a guy like Mark Cannon Jr. can improve with 3 more years in a Redbird uniform. He could become a real weapon at 6'3". I think Jack Dwyer will be ready to step up and take the next step. I may be wrong, but I think he could compete with Hodgdon to start theoretically if we fail to add someone at safety.

I just finished watching. I only have 1 thought. I would like to give an A+++ to Coach Tony Peterson. Sometimes the best call is a play that doesn't even work. (or does it?) A couple of deep passes near the beginning of the game fall incomplete. No big deal right? Wrong. They told the Murray DC "I'm not afraid to throw it deep on your ass with my backup". Murry took a player out of the box and before you knew it we ran for 340 yards and a nice win. Run set up pass? Nope. Pass set up run!!! Go State!

Yes, totally get that strategy, but ...... what if .. we go 3 and out deep in our own territory. We got a little lucky on 2 3rd and longs after we did that the 3 times I noticed in 1st half.

Still love Peterson overall game plan for same reasons you said.

Refresh my memory. Why did Franky West transfer to another FCS school?

I think a lot of times players enter the portal with the idea of going somewhere “bigger “ and when it doesn’t pan out they try to save face and make a lateral move. Also I think they enjoy being re-recruited.

He had FBS Coastal Carolina and a few otherFCS schools. Questions should be why did guys like Franky West, Iverson Brown, Braden Price, Shannon Reid, Jabarri Khephra, Jerimiah Jordan, Jude Okolo, Kenton WIlholt, Treshawn Watson, Eric Rogers, Charles Woods, JK Khalon leave those are just a few names that come to mind. Thats a lot of talent that was contributing/promising !
