It’s still about developing relationships. You may not keep every player- but you can build relationships and reach out to as many families as you can. The Portal can either be your best friend or worst enemy. It’s not going to always be fair- but so is life. If your attitude stands out like a sore thumb- you are already behind the 8 ball!
Agreed. It's about building a program that kids want to be at. Loyola didn't have an issue with transfers out. Kept their group together for 5 years and saw success. Same thing at Wichita State (during their peak success). You better believe Fred Van Vleet, Ron Bake, and Cleanthony Early were getting calls to play in the P5. They stayed together and went to the F4. It's a bummer Yesufu left Drake.(at KU, he's averaging 10 min per game, 2.6 points, and 1.2 assists). He with Devries on that roster would've been a nightmare.

I hope a new coach is interested in coming in and building something, a la Porter at Loyola. "Committed to Culture." Create a place where people want to be. If the new coach rises to the success Moser did, they gave you the blue print. Hire his best assistant and keep the team together. Though, I do think the Blers will be middle of the pack in the A10 next year. They also would've been middle of the new Valley, but that's a different conversation.

The thing I love about that team and how Stallings coached. 30 Games. We had the same 5 starters in every game.
Except for Leroy, they averaged 30+ minutes per game.
