This is a high compliment to UNI and Drake. Both in the top 5 in a group that includes Gonzaga and Saint Mary's.

Other notables include Bradley (#14), Long Beach State (RV), Indiana State (RV), Northern Kentucky (RV), Belmont (RV) and Murray State (RV)

I can’t wait to be 3 or 4 games into it. I watched UNI last night, they can flat out shoot the rock as a team. They will be better this year. The other team did put together a 13-2 run on them in the second half I believe. Their perimeter defense wasn’t that tough. Their big man is good.

good for Grand Canyon St. Was an online college just 10 yrs ago. Now now they are going to the FBS after only a few years of having a sports program. The same thing Liberty University has done. Bet they are happy they don't have our fan base for sure.

The Education Department announced Tuesday that it would fine Grand Canyon University $37.7 million, the largest penalty ever handed down by the agency, after an investigation found the Christian university lied to more than 7,500 students about the cost of its doctoral programs over several years.

They may be happy they don't have our fan base, but I'd guess most of our fan base is happy we don't have their "leadership"

It is nice being on that list, but I am a little curious why they picked the cut-off where they did.
According to how Lindy ranks the conferences.

7th Mountain West (San Diego State, Boise State, New Mexico)
8th American Athletic( Florida Atlantic, Memphis, North Texas)
9th Atlantic 10 (Dayton, St. Bonventure)
********* CUT OFF to MID MAJORS
10th West Coast (Gonzaga, St. Mary's)
11th Missouri Valley(Drake, Northern Iowa, etc)

They have pretty much stayed with the same conferences the entire time they have done this poll, for years.

NOTE: The Mid-Major Poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Coastal Athletic, Conference USA, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast, Western Athletic.

Both liberty and grand canyon are so called "christian" schools and are very far from it.

Well, they need an actual football program first.

And both have put obscene amounts of money into their athletic programs . . . you know, like good Christian schools should. Fat men stuck in the eye of a needle

I worked in for-profit education for a while and even companies like DeVry, ITT and SNHU couldn't hold serve against GCU. They were never "Christian" until someone started sniffing around about 9 years ago and they needed to go from for-profit to non-profit in a hurry. The easiest way to do that is to suddenly find Jesus because then you are affiliated with a church and if you are affiliated with a church, you can essentially run a for-profit model without governmental oversight. Liberty has been doing this for decades- it is a way to charge more and pay nothing in taxes. Look at the profit documents from GCU and Liberty over the last decade. Each school could buy a fleet of 747s and build most modern sports stadium on the planet in the center of campus and it wouldnt make a dent.
