Nobody is gonna say anything about the FT shooting?
That was our Achilles heel a few seasons ago and needs to be addressed if we’re gonna do anything this season.
I think we were like 2nd in the country in team free throw percentage last year, with a lot of returners I think we should be ok in that area

Threes were dropping. We did pretty well against the press, but never really tried to exploit it. I assume we weren’t showing much tonight. Was disappointed with rebounding and we left a bunch of free throws short, I think all of Fosters were. Leib has a great touch from the line. Need to get him there often. Burford, Poindexter and Foster did well exploiting the press in the half court

The Jeff’s are pretty good for their level. They tested us early.

It's a fair point to mention although I am not too concerned. I'm confident Banks (3-5) will shoot between 75-80%. Kinziger (1-2) probably around the same. I hope Lieb (3-4) can shoot around 70%, not sure what to expect though. Poindexter (2-3) should be north of 80%, hopefully over 85%. Foster (1-5) is the one that concerns me a lot. I can see him getting to the free throw line a lot. He is shooting 57% for his career. Hopefully the coaching staff can get him near 70%.

Good call. Hopefully we don't take last years performance from the line for granted.

He was dressed so not sure how set that is. Maybe nursing an injury that could linger 🤷‍♂️

Portal or not, that feels like the prudent choice at the time being. His weight loss was an achievement and that work ethic will pay off, but watching him labor at times against IWU I don’t think he could withstand a full college basketball season right now.

Agreed, I don't mind it. The only problem is Schmitt becomes a key player if Lieb gets into foul trouble. Hopefully we see improvement from him.

Doubt this is the route they go. Schmitt can’t play. Period. Pedon has mentioned Lewis playing 1-5 and with the additional size in the new guards + Pence, if Lieb is in foul trouble I think they’d go with a smaller lineup and have Lewis guard the 5.

This might be an easy question, not sure. Who were the most recent good players that ISU have redshirted as freshmen, that we benefited from their good 5th season?

Key player might be overstating. I do believe he very likely will find himself in the rotation if Lieb is in foul trouble. Will probably see a lot of Lewis playing the 5 in that situation.

Pedon's biggest challenge might be getting 11 players to all contribute and buy into their roles this season. If so, this could be a very good team. If not, expect the inconsistency we have seen the last several seasons. I am leaning towards the first option.

Depends on how many times Foster goes to the line
