Rey got taken to the wood shed on the defensive end. It was brutal to watch. He doesn’t have enough length and his feet are not very good. On the offensive end, he’s not versatile and his hands are not very good. He simply does not have enough length to impose his will against any D1 posts. Not to mention his coordination is not very good.

Guess I didn't do a good enough job selling Rey's POTENTIAL. He's 6-9 and 240, which is bigger than Fisher and very comparable in the Valley with a couple of notable exceptions (Krautwig and Liam from Drake).

Definitely needs some defensive work. But I don't think its a helpless cause. Offense, who needs versatile? Like I said, a couple more putbacks and FT's and he's averaging 10 points per game. "Impose his will" - who does? Very few really.

I'm not claiming he's an All-American. Just saying with some coaching and effort and opportunity and experience, he could close in on a double-double for us and that would help.

Rey needs to add two more post moves besides the baby hook. He also needs to improve his hand strength. Too many times the ball would get slapped out. I do believe he can do it because he is still young. You are right about his footwork. I would love to see him go to a big man camp this summer. Defensively his lack of worries m quickness could be offset with better recognition of play around him. He had the drive to get there. Mostly I want him to be more aggressive and not so much finesse.
