Made no easier I'm sure because of the recent "surge" among his teammates. We're in tough times folks. No right answers. Or maybe should say no wrong answers.

Does he get another year?
If so, will he stay?

Yes, he gets another year. Unfortunately, he could be a grad transfer now. However, if he does stay I think it's a great choice he made selfishly because this season is more of a throw away for a multitude of reasons. Next season the team should be better if the backcourt stays and Covid is under control.

He has a chance to graduate and start a career with a young child in the mix. Pretty sure his collegiate career is over.

Disappointing for the fans but quite understandable and even a wise decision for Keith.

He really started putting it together at the end of last year and I thought he was going to be a force for the Birds this year and in the Valley. He got better and better scoring around the rim and even started showing some surprising range from downtown. He will be missed as a vocal leader and from what all I have heard and read as a good person and teammate.

Nothing but well wishes for Keith and his family and glad he was a Redbird even for the short duration.

Tough blow for us with the upcoming season so close, but understandable. Best wishes to Keith!

In other news, somebody just got more minutes. Who will it be?

Good for you, Keith. Tough break for the Birds . . . Well, we've got next year! 🙃

If Chatman gets his immediate eligibility, wouldn’t he still be able to play an additional season anyways because all players are getting allowed an extra year?

As far as I understand it, yes.
IMO, to even be considered competitive this season, we’ll need D1 experience at the 4/5 spot. Chatman fits that category but he won’t be able to do it on his own. Dusan’s role just changed a WHOLE LOT. As did Kotov and Andrews.
I totally understand and support Keith’s decision. If there is some world where he plays college basketball again, I hope it’s a ISU. Good, upstanding kid.

This hurts but I gotta respect his decision. Next man up mentality. Perhaps we go with a 4 guard lineup now.

Also- for those glass half-full folks. The Birds officially have zero seniors on the roster.

Hate to see it and hope he is back, but totally agree with his decision for his family in these times.

If only someone would slip his girlfriend $40,000 he could play this year! We need boosters! How are we ever going to win without boosters!!!
