I like this change to the rule. Graduate within a year or lose a scholarship. I hope this passes.

"In two weeks, the N.C.A.A.’s primary legislative body, the Division I Council, will vote on a measure that could severely restrict graduate transfers. The proposed rule change would require that colleges accepting graduate transfers be docked a scholarship the next year if the transfer does not earn his secondary degree within a year."

I'm guessing that if schools like Boston College could figure out a way to get Deonte Hawkins in as a grad-transfer, they can figure out a way to get him a secondary degree in something. These P5 (+AAC) schools will figure a way around it. Now maybe not so much for the non- P5 (+AAC)

I like that they're trying to add some accountability, but this is pretty severe. Like the article says, many grad programs are 2-years. And, as usual, this will hurt the non-power conferences more. The power teams can do without a scholly player easier than the non-power schools.

The real joke is on the company that hires some of these “student” athletes with their bogus advanced degrees.
