Temperatures will be in the mid-to-upper 50's for tailgating and for the start of the game - dropping down to 50 by the end of the game. Of course, in flat, elevated Normal - breezy 13-16 mph winds from the NW, bringing that little bit of Fall nip. I have told my Tailgate group - especially for younger folks and spouses - bring that extra sweatshirt, pullover, and/or jacket - always easier to add on later, than to be without.

Great day for grilling and your choice of Adult Anti-Freeze. I am expecting the Birds to play their best game of the season today - whether that will be good enough, we will see. I am very hopeful the Jackrabbits will go home feeling like bunnies tonight. Not always the best for predictions - but it will take at least 28 points, if not 31 to have a chance. Points from a defensive or Special Teams play - will provide a huge advantage. First team to 30 points, wins.

Expecting the largest turnout for a Tailgate yet this year - with a huge turnout next week. Yes, hard convincing people this game is much more important than Homecoming vs the hapless Indy State Sycs. Support the Birds with Empower the Nest from Keg Grove!!!!

Birdswin throws out a perfectly reasonable prediction for the game, first team to 30 wins, etc. SDSU is averaging 44 ppg and the Birds 34. But Look at the points allowed, and SDSU is only giving up 12.7 ppg and the Birds 12.3. So, maybe, just maybe, this is more of a defensive game? Not gonna be 13-10, but maybe more like 21-20? 20-17? Jackrabbits only put up 20 vs. Montana State at home. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Big test for the d-backfield today. We'll need the sacks and pressures today too.

I see a solid first half, but cant help but think it will slowly slip away 2nd half. Can we win .. yes !! But, I don't think it is a likey upset today.

To win, we'll need a healthy Blakemore/Mueller tandem, an assertive offensive game plan, a solid defense that can get off the field on 3rd down a little more often. A lot to ask, but we've played up to this level before against the odds.

Lets Go Redbirds !!!

What the hell is wrong with you season ticket holders why aren't you at the game. You guys suck they wouldn't have any other other major university where they have a great football team.

Game was over 9 mins in. Forget the crowd, our football team didn't show up either. What an embarrassment.

Bad start. But we were one TD drive from a 6 pt game 2 different times. We have no answer for their offense, but our offense showed us something today. This is the top defense in FCS.

On the other hand, maybe Birdswin knows what he's talking about!

For perspective on our defense yesterday:

1st half .. 5 drives, 5 TDs, 29 plays, 340 yds, 11.7 yds/play, 68 yds/drive .. ignores their last drive (2 plays) before half.

2nd half .. 5 drives, 1 TD, 34 plays, 173 yds, 5.1 yds/play, 35 yds/drive. .. this is a very solid half for our defense

Now one could argue, the took the foot off the gas pedal. But we all know that's not true when you are dominating in run game and that we had at least 2 chances to cut the lead to 6, probably more if I traced it harder.
