Coach Spack and Clark ... time to put in a Broadnax package .... just do it !

It will mix things up nicely and give teams something else to game plan for.

Nice redemption game on road for losing one we should have won at home a year ago.

That was a beating. Gillum has an extremely high ceiling. Defense stout. Kolbe was good. Running backs are deep and tough.

We have a very good football team.

PS---Agree with the suggestion of putting in a package for Broadnax. Why the heck not?

Good win! Still have things to work on. And they will, no doubt about it. The Birds will be even better next week!!

So far, Illinois State has the best defense in Div 1 football by points and yards.

Our RBs are drenched in talent, as well.

If Kolbe can manage a game and avg 225 yds plus a 2-1 td to int, ISU will be easily one of the favorites for Frisco.

Keep it up.

Putting aside the Butler game, this was one heck of a "tune up" type game.

Beat them worse than NIU and didn't really find our groove on offense.

MVFC is dominating again today ... Patty V ... playoff talk now starts at 5 teams and tilts to 6 teams. This is proving to be a very dominant non-conf season for 8 of 10 MVFC teams.

playoffs ... 6 MVFC teams .. don't let fact that MVFC grind results in 40 wins and 40 losses erode our rankings. We dominated non-conf season almost as much 2014.

p.s. ahem ... hope we show up ready for NAU !!

Maybe I'm going against the grain here but I'm just not as impressed with Kolbe as Spack seems to be. It could just be that we haven't really opened the playbook the last two games. But I feel like we are more likely to not convert a 3rd than we are, especially if it's long. He underthrew Gillum for his "best" throw, and he was nearly picked off twice yesterday. I just never feel like he's gonna "make something happen". We are clogged with great talent behind this guy...I can see that, just not seeing what he can consistently bring to the table other than experience.

I thought Kolbe played fine. Offense still has not hit their stride but I don't think many of us expected that early on as the line found their lanes in the road. I think a Broadnax package would be a good change of pace and cause the opposition to prepare for a different wrinkle. While Broadnax has played very well and is an exciting player, lets not lose sight of the fact that he has only played at the end of the first two games when the outcome was really not in doubt. Different at the beginning of the game. Defense looked magnificent! Horton had a whale of a game and the EIU QBs are probably glad they don't have to face the Redbird D again. The only thing that bothered me was the points left on the field. A few missed field goals and the Birds had the ball deep inside the Pather end of the field a few times and came away with no points of just the field goal. When you get that kind of field position you have to get points. For those of you, like me, that missed much of the first half on the OVC digital network the game is up for a replay. I just watched the first half that I missed yesterday. They pick up the game with the Birds up 7-0 but you can see a good portion of what was missed yesterday.
