Agree on Matheny!Adunk33 said:Paul has been very, very good defensively this season. His strikeout numbers have been improving but he still needs to work on that. He is trying his hardest to be a power hitter (which he is) with 8 HR, and leading a very balanced Cardinals team. The problem is often where he gets bat in the lineup. He's bats 8th or 9th typically, which if he gets on, the next player is either the pitcher or grounds into a double play. It'd be beneficial to become more of a contact hitter. If he gets a higher on base % then he will (hopefully) move up in the lineup, which could lead to more runs.
Generally, its amazing the Cardinals have been in 1st most of the season so far with Matheny as manager. Mike has been struggling this season such has not pulling the plug on Waino, keeping Fowler ($$$ mistake) in the lineup, and pitching Gregerson so often.
