I don't want to read a lot into her comments, but sure feels like she'd like to return to NC State some day.

Given the situation its understandable, don’t think that job will be coming open anytime soon. I think she loves her players and likes it here a lot. But she’s realistic you hear her talk about the margin of error. That wears on you that you have to thread a camel thru the eye of the needle to get an at large

Well, yeah! And I hope she gets it someday. Perhaps this is a snooty statement but top to bottom I believe she's the best coach/teacher in the athletic department. This girl has the CHOPS.

Me thinks the best thing for our department is to move the revenue coaches on to bigger and better things every 3 or 4 yrs. Ya know why? That means we're winning, and perhaps winning big. Not that I don't want to keep good coaches. I most certainly do. But it isn't realistic. Let's win, baby, and help coaches to move on up like George and Weezy.

I understand where you are coming from Humdinger, but man we haven't won a lot (women's basketball has had success so maybe different for them) and I'm greedy. Why can't we get a Ben Jacobsen?

10 years ago...maybe? I'm with you. I'd love for her to stay and build us a top 25 program. I mean, why the hek not? I just don't believe with the current NCAA scene that we can keep her, and she is quite ambitious. She comes from a winning family (putting it modestly) and played college basketball at the highest level for one of the greatest coaches ever. You're talking a triple to quadruple increase in base salary...and probably the game changer - much higher talent that will consider your program and allow you to compete legitimately on a national scale. And the kicker. Her pedigree makes her a very attractive candidate for a major job.

But make no mistake. I'd love to keep her here. Hmmmn. Shall I kidnap her?? (that would be called a big joke, I'm not really going to kidnap her. Hulka might, though)

Their program has the same in every major program they have: Tanya Warren, Bobbi Petersen, Mark Farley. It’s other programs too. They can’t keep ADs, but they keep coaches.

Jacobson may be getting to the point where they have to evaluate contract versus success. He has a lot built up there, but eventually do or do.lars to sustain their program may decrease if their NCAA tournament drought decreases and seasons under .500 since then pile up.

As far as KG, I hope she gets that job, from here, because we would be looking at multiple NCAA bids and probably some NCAA tourney wins. They are big enough and have enough resources to pull in a lot of attention. I’m sure she would be on their list, but they are going to want a resume that shows a bit more success. KG can get there, and I hope it’s with our program that she gets there.
