A lot of chatter on Dodgers Twitter of bringing Brock into the rotation.
Source said:Pitched 2 innings, gave up 4 hits, 5 runs, and 4 walks in LA's win. No decision for Brock.
April 25: RHP Brock Stewart selected from Triple-A St. Paul; RHP Trevor Megill designated for assignment
Stewart will occupy the vacated 26-man roster spot left by right-handed pitcher Bailey Ober, who was optioned to St. Paul on April 24. To make room for Stewart on the 40-man roster, the Twins designated Trevor Megill for assignment. Stewart, 31, has appeared in seven games for the Saints this season, posting a 2.08 ERA, and last appeared in the Majors with the Blue Jays in 2019, before he was sidelined by Tommy John surgery in May '21 and surgery to remove a bone spur in March '22. His fastball velocity is up to 95-97 mph after having been all the way down to 91 mph in '19.
"I remember walking off the field after a tough [2019], and I was thinking to myself, ‘This could be it. This could be the last time I’m on a big league field,’" Stewart said. "So, to be here now, it’s definitely special for me."
Another scoreless inning yesterday. Throw up a few more outings like that and he has a chance to stick around for the rest of the season.Brock gets the W today pitching 2 innings
