Muhlhauser and Brennan are tied at the hip and I'm not even referring to this story. I would imagine (much to the dismay of a number of posters here) Leanna will get the interim tag until all this shakes out. Frankly she's the common sense choice.

Any time a position such as Prez or A.D. is altered, it can create a ripple effect that sometimes takes years to fully establish. IE: Ryan is KYLE'S GUY. That whole dynamic in the athletic dept was just massively shifted...cause how many new A.D.'s at this level are looking for turn key operations?? Most want their own stamp. Anytime someone new steps in everyone is on edge.

Man oh man. What an interesting 2023 in Abnormal Normal.

You know who else Ryan is? Doug’s guy. He’s fine.

I know for a fact that staff urged upper mgmt to write off the Rossi pledge before the 22 audit. That request was denied. The indianapolis trip has been under scrutiny for well over a year but I did not know about the strip club. Doesn't surprise me though. There was also also a certain female involved in this trips that did not need to be so that raises questions for me as well. Mulhauser is Brennan's bag man and he will be gone as well. It wouldn't surprise me if the VP of advancement moves on also. This all could have been avoided. I do not believe any money was ever received from Rossi.
I understand Rossi had a briefcase full of ones.

Do not believe everything you read. Nothing was showing them at a strip club besides an Uber receipt with an address which, if anyone has used Uber your address does not necessarily mean that is your exact location. The address is right across from the stadium, which I would guess was almost impossible to get UBERS for a long time with 70,000 fans exiting a stadium. A trip like this for a donor with the wealth screening like Rossi at this time is not out of the norm. Athletics does not do the wealth screenings, these are given to them by Advancement/Foundation. The foundation approved this trip, and the assumptions in the article are eye-opening. Athletics can't just sign a contract from anyone for $3 million without getting approval from the foundation. ISU Athletics gets audited every year, and that is an extremely detailed audit by internal and external financial auditors. The bottom line is no one could foreshadow the future of Rossi and with the information at hand, this was viable so the media can flip the story in any direction they want. Just know that there are facts that are left out and the media makes stories seem not what they are.
Found Brennan.

That all sounds good, but then why did Brennan resign?

Why were they still at the game at 2:21 AM?

Spending $23K at the time to then receive a $3M donation doesn't sound too bad to me 🤷‍♂️

At least before the federal tax fraud charges come out making the donation nullified lol
Cost of doing business until one gets indicted.

It could be a number of things. The athletics business is unlike any other in these aspects. He started during COVID, which was stressful enough, but then doing everything else that was asked of him and getting constantly attacked would be mentally exhausting. I personally would never want that job.

Really, they just stopped by for a bite? The expenses were submitted as reimbursements after the trip so, no, they were not approved in advance that is false. The AD's expenses are signed off on by the president and the foundation processes them. Athletics does have their own separate audit done each year (they are external auditors, not internal - Streigel does that audit I believe). I don't know that at the time Rossi's legal 'issues' were fully known but the pledge was brought to the attention of management last year about being written off and wasn't so that is really the story now. Could have been avoided. That pledge is the loose end that brought all of this other stuff out.
