Agree 100%I'm not. First year that I can remember. Just don't care out side of MVC teams. NCAA has ruined it for me.
Same. At least UVA showing what a middling ACC team looks like contrasted nicely with what they could have had with the Trees and their explosive offense. Not like it matters, though…I'm not. First year that I can remember. Just don't care out side of MVC teams. NCAA has ruined it for me.
Tom Izzo is one of the most overrated coaches, they stick his team in the top 10 every year just for them to win 18-22 games, still living off past successesPulling for Drake, obviously. And I hope Michigan State gets their asses shot off today, especially after Izzo's curmudgeony crap about Mid Majors.
Beyond that, I have little interest in this tourney TBH.
I liked what one analyst said, there is not one player in this year's tournament that was even born since Izzo won the Championship 24 years ago.Tom Izzo is one of the most overrated coaches, they stick his team in the top 10 every year just for them to win 18-22 games, still living off past successes
Just as there isn't a single student (undergrad at least) who was born the last time we went to the DanceI liked what one analyst said, there is not one player in this year's tournament that was even born since Izzo won the Championship 24 years ago.
That's probably not true.Just as there isn't a single student (undergrad at least) who was born the last time we went to the Dance
Maybe not, but there can't be many, if any,That's probably not true.
I was a relatively young man last time we danced, not so much now.Just as there isn't a single student (undergrad at least) who was born the last time we went to the Dance
Just wait until the super conferences start voting some of the “weaker” members off the island. And then how the potential tv money/viewership dictates the replacementsTo be clear, my problems are not with NIL (though it needs to be handled better). These kids should absolutely get their share of the money these schools are making hand over fist. Again, Big Whatever schools make $50 million plus a year just for having the good fortune of being in a regional conference 50 years ago and now have TV deals. Pay the kids.
Mostly it's the transfer rules and the move to the super conferences/removal of "the other guys".
What bugs me is the common fan is supposed to directly pay the players via the affiliated NIL group while the school still pockets the big bucks. To be clear, my problems are not with NIL (though it needs to be handled better). 100%. The schools should be making these kids employees. Because they are doing the work that brings in the money. What bugs me is the common fan is supposed to directly pay the players via the affiliated NIL group while the school still pockets the big bucks.
that is the big conflict Quinn...how do we pay kids/players their "share of the money" (your words) via NIL while restricting their ability to transfer? Players need to be able to travel where ever needed to go to work and get paid their market value. that is not the ncaa driving that approach that is our restraint of trade laws and the courts have ruled several times that restricting player transfer is restraining their ability to earn. the ncaa has tried to implement transfer rules and they are being struct down by the courts when the transfer rules are challengedTo be clear, my problems are not with NIL (though it needs to be handled better). ...and get rid of the farce term "student athlete". save that for d3100%. The schools should be making these kids employees. Because they are doing the work that brings in the money.
