Yes but with this tournament FAU was under seeded compared to the other 9 seeds in this tournament.

FAU
Record: 33-3
Net: 13
Quad 1 record: 5-1

West Virginia
Record: 19-15
Conf. Record: 7-11
Net: 25
Quad 1: 6-14

Auburn
Record: 21-13
Net: 32
Quad 1: 4-11

Illinois
Record: 20-13
Net: 34
Quad 1: 2-12

So what 9 seed was under seeded? I am all for the best 4 teams that prove it over the course and I would argue with anyone that if you make the final four regardless of your conference you're a good team. I want good teams not blue bloods all the time. Part of what the committee needs to do is seed better because FAU was really under seeded. The other thing that they need to do is eliminate teams like West Virginia, if you can't have a winning record in your conference then you shouldn't make the tournament.

Illinoy getting a 9 seed was laughable. The NET works wonders for the big boys, even when they get their backsides kicked.

PAC-12 & Big 10 haven’t won a title for 26 & 23 years respectively!! Didn’t realize it’d been that long. The 2 leagues have had about 400 teams make the tournament in that interim, w ZERO titles.

There are 6 teams still playing college basketball between the NCAA and NIT, 3 of them are from Conference USA. I've said a few times that the American is a glorified CUSA...maybe that is being disrespectful to CUSA.

I think a CUSA team won the CBI as well.

They did. And last night, the University of North Texas took down the vaunted wisky badgers in the NIT Final 4. It's a CUSA ship in the NIT tomorrow night.
Who was "vaunting" Wisconsin? Even up here in Badgerland there have been questions all year. Massive crap out last night, not the first time this year. Scoreless for 10 minutes!

It's my default when talking about the mighty (vaunted) big ten. They couldn't even beat a CUSA school. The NIT gave them the gift of two home games due to their conference affiliation and they still couldn't seal the deal. Not being able to score for 10 minutes does have a negative impact on a team's ability to win, vaunted or not.

Yes, NCAA was "vaunting" them in that way, for sure.
