Wichita State and St. Louis are going to do everything possible to get that spot. But, in reality it will go to Dayton, UConn, or VCU. Maybe ISU can make a couple of nice runs and become the 12th team down the line.

Or maybe we can fill the void left in the AAC or the A10 when one of those teams leave for the Big East.

Isn’t the Big East made up of all private schools? Are they really going to break off from that and bring in a public school?
Wasn’t the whole reason the Big East developed into what they are today was to have a conference of similar institutions?

American could be fun. But hell on travel - and nothing close to a natural rival...

Frankly, UConn makes the most sense, even tho it's a public school. They have history with most of the BE, and have a strong history in the tourney. VCU is also public, but there's no history. And while Dayton is private, they don't have the history that UConn has.

All that said, the BE will pick whomever they think can bring the most revenue to the conference. Cuz it is all about the $$.

The thing that struck me in the article is that the big conferences want to go to a 20 game conference schedule. That means 2 or 4 less non conference games. Guess who loses those games. Mid majors. They will still play Alcorn A&M. They will still play the ESPN showcase games. The mids will get cut out.
