“Position-wise, he’s a ‘3’ or ‘4’ guy. He can play the wing, he can be a great stretch-4 for a lot of college programs that like a big guy that can step out and shoot the ball, run pick-and-roll, go off the dribble. He can be a very special guy. He can be a key contributor as soon as he steps on campus. He’s got the potential to be a guy that leaves his mark on a program for several years to come.”

Congrats to Dan and Penny!

Demontay Dixon (2018)
Team Thad/Summit HS
Wing Forward

Why are they rising? We have spoken in the past at length about when that proverbial light comes on. When a player with unlimited potential finally decides, yes I want to be what they are projecting me to be. This young man has length, he has skills with the ball, his outside shooting is good, his motor is improving and his will to be good has finally reached a projectable level. As he adds strength you will see his production rise especially on the defensive end where he still has strides to make. He has shown to be a future shot-blocking champ and his rebounding is becoming a major strength as he begins to understand the need for positioning and using that length to his advantage. This will be a massive summer for him as he plays with Team Thad in the Under Armour Association League against capable athletes of his size every time he laces up the shoes.

Who is recruiting him? His revolutionary quick rise has not spurned offers but has created interest from schools ranking from the SEC to mid-major powerhouses interested in honing his skills on their campus.

No mention of him already having signed a NLI to be a Redbird. The article implies that he is a rising Tennessee star whose recruiting stock is on the way up.

Maybe that’s because the article is from April, before he signed.

Sorry jbird don’t like to be a smart add to you but you walked into it.

Looks like a great get for ISU. He is a big who can ball handle and shoot it from all over the floor. As someone else said, he needs to put on muscle like any young player so he can fight for rebounds, but I like the post moves he already has, he catches the call well in transition, but also keeps the ball high when he does. I have a feeling we got away with one under the radar! Nice job coaches and welcome Demontay!

I don't mind being called out on my screw-ups, but have a ready-made defense that part of my brain is missing.

in fact, some fairly common phrases that I now take personally are:

:"I'd like to pick your brain for a minute;"

"Have you lost your mind:" and

"I'd like to give you a piece of my mind!"

Not a ton out there on him. Quick research: Demontay leads all scorers with 25pts as Summit defeats Page 71-64.

Yeah, I found reference to games of 23, 22, 17, and 16. No other stats like rebounds. The team is a bit over .500 for the season.
