Heading over September 7th to watch West Virginia @ Missouri. Had to get hotel in Jefferson City, about a half hour from Columbia. But looks like there are a few good craft beer places downtown Jefferson City to hit Friday night.

I like these games whether we win or not. Good exposure, great recruiting tool, decent dollars within a bus ride’s time.
I love this Missouri game especially, since that is where I first set roots before ISU. If you get a chance, easily one of the top Midwest college football venues.

Couple things...

Illinois-Missouri football starts back up in 2026. In '27, Missouri will play both Illinois & ISU.

I was at the game in '07. The first of three daughters to go to Mizzou would start school there a couple years later. My strongest recollection of the game was ISU & Luke Drone getting stuffed on a first & goal at the start of the Q2 with Mizzou leading 14-3. Tom Nelson had intercepted Chase Daniels on the Missouri 31 to set up the drive that came up a couple yards short.

Missouri went on to win 38-17 in a game where we weren't too competitive. Gary Pinkell was really starting to get their football program rolling at that time.

I've been to Faurot Field a time or two a year since. Really nice football venue if you've not been there.

I will definitely be going to this game. I have been hoping we could get Mizzou and Indiana on the schedule if we can’t get ILL, NW, or NIU on there. It’s nice to check off Mizzou again, so let’s get Indiana in 2028 and see what we can do in 2023. Heck, while we’re at it, how about Purdue in 2029?

Right now, NW may be closest team we could get at some point in 2023, but it wouldn’t be to open the season.

Doubt Purdue would ever give Spack a chance to beat them ... would look pretty bad.
