Another loss. Another game with TWENTY-FOUR turnovers. On pace for a 20-loss season. When is rock bottom? Can we hit it yet and start to figure this program out?
I thought rock bottom was losing at home to Valpo. So, I guess losing to Bradley in OT on the road is starting to figure things out.

Maybe I'm blind but I don't think there's any way that Luke fouled that guy on the 3. I didn't see it on the replay either and the announcers claims to have seen it.
You’re not blind or even falling prey to bad eye sight. It wasn’t a foul.

I hate to be a Debbie downer but here goes. Close losses like this use to knaw at me for days. Any loss to Bradley would piss me off to no end.

I hate to admit it but I just don’t really care anymore. Year after year of bad teams has left me indifferent. Dan Muller killed the program. I hope…. I really hope Pedon can breath life into it again and resuscitate what was once a proud successful bball program. It’s been a really long time since Illinois State and bball competence were one and the same and I just don’t care anymore.

I’m the complete opposite. This one is really pissing me off. As did the UNI game.

Been a few years since I’ve felt like this.

We essentially played with 6 players. Turnovers and lack of depth is what cost us.
I agree. Depth could actually lower some turnovers. It’s gotta be extremely hard play just about the whole game every game. Birds have played tough and close games with some of the top half teams in this league. Pedon will get the right pieces in. They well make a jump next year

Tough loss but proof that Valley Tourney is wide open. As announcers noted, I thought Birds off-ball were moving harder and and with more purpose than anytime this season- that went anyway toward the end of regulation. We need a guard to prioritize taking care of the ball instead of trying to be a scorer, TO’s they’re undoing again. Best game for Lewis since Christmas.
Yes and that my friend should be a true pg

We shot 26 free throws in Peoria the refs didn’t lose the game for us! We had good ball movement early on… and then we stopped moving the ball and went back to our dribble offense! We turn the ball over way too much!

I don’t disagree with your assessment but it still wasn’t a foul. Two different things.

I tend to agree.

"Competitive spirit" "If we had more depth" "a few less turnovers" "left their hearts out there" "showed a lot of grit" "building the foundation"

These are all things losing programs say when they can't beat better programs. There are no moral victories. The reality is we are the 9th-best team in the 14th-best league and will be done with our season before the first weekend of conference tournament action. If you go by NET / what used to be RPI this is going to be one of the most unsuccessful seasons in Illinois State history.

Ok- we lost! It’s the same ole song! Close- but not close enough! It was a great effort! I will give them that!

All that is only true if a program throw in the towel. I didn’t see that tonight at all. Listen even the top teams in this conference have all lost. It has to be difficult in the coaches as well as the players. Team depth is what killing this team the most. Fresh legs during a game pay huge dividends down the stretch. The Birds have bugs but don’t play big/inside. Our inside players are undersized. Mal playing pg when he’s best suited playing off ball. Darius have a scores mentality that keeps him from playing one with so much quickness. Kendall played very good tonight. That’s refreshing to see. Like competes extremely hard. Turnovers run rampant every game yet we’re in most games. I won’t stop saying this until I see this. A true big/low post player and a true pg will have the Birds winning more games next year. Liam need to take his shots and stop passing up so many. Knight I think is asked to do too much but really comes through more often than not. Coming from UVA to this conference I can see there isn’t a clear head above shoulders team in it. I love watching them play and next year will be different on so many fronts. I can tell Pedon is a great offensive mind just by the sets he run with the talent he have. Gn Redbirds Fans.

This is why the roster needs to be worked over. We need to hit the portal and JC route heavy for at least a big. If you aren’t D1 material we should be helping them find a spot for playing time to open up spots!

Woulda, coulda, shoulda...didn't. Moral victories don't count. We were heavy underdogs here and played with heart. Let's clean up the TOs and move on.

GO BIRDS!!
