Great Article on 2024 Early Outlook from the Analyst on MVFC and Redbirds. As usual high expectations of the Redbirds starting the last few season in the valley. Every year including myself the past yrs felt Redbirds were playoff bound. I will now say it remains to be seen if the birds can rid itself of the bird flu mentality and field a true 22 players who deserve to be on the field with deserving backups and supports who believe in each other.... as well as those players trusting and believing in the coaching staff 100%. Like the Article say 17 potential returning starters ! The clock is ticking ! "Untapped potential is the difference between where a person is now and where he can BE ! Relationship are base on communication not Assumptions ! Assumptions are quickest way to disasters ! Never-Too-Early Outlook for 2024 FCS Season: SDSU Seeing Bison in Rear-View Mirror | The Analyst

Good find ... so Craig Haley the STATS guy, has us in his top 18. Apparently been listening to our mantra ... 4 of 5 losses by combined 8 pts and 17 returning starters as of now. Cited us as the team likely to make thie biggest jump.

Coaches need to firm up our QB position (2 deep), keep as many our guys as they can thru Feb signing and spring ball !!!!

May not need to order much Redbird brand koolaid for 2024 season !!!!

Good article 15. SDSU may go the way of Gronowski. If he leaves, there will probably be coattails. So, USD returning most, just like us? Avoiding those two will be to the benefit of everything except our SOS.

Question: You've referred to poor communication between the coaches and players before. Can you provide some color on that?

Any thoughts on the schedule change?? Flipping the at North Alabama game with the EIU game. We start the season with two road games.

Good catch .. with so much coming back, I don't think this matters much .. we need to win both anyway, period. But yeah, would prefer EIU at home after Iowa road game. We know EIU and Spack will be thinking payback regardless of week 2 or 3. But we don't know UNA, so would be nice to do a home tuneup before UNA road game.

Note.. UNA was 3-8 against 28th ranked SOS. EIU was 8-3 against 81st ranked SOS. If we didn't have so much coming back, I would be a little more concerned going on road week 2, because UNA is better than their 3-8 record .. so a road game like this is always risky. EIU was not as good as their 8-3 record, but I do think they were legit top 30-35 team.

Weather is unpredictable, but I'd have preferred playing in Alabama later in the season rather than earlier. It was September either way, but usually there's 2-3 degrees difference or so over a couple of weeks.

Oh dang .. people here think Iowa gets hot in early September .. it is 3+ hours due west of Chicago. I had to look it up, but UNA is Florence, AL ... 9 hours straight south !!! I think it's pretty near the equator ?? Avg temp in early Sept is mid to upper 80's ... that's the average !

Looks like, based on past schedules, it's likely to be an evening kickoff, 6pm?? That doesn't always help, but might help some.,

Lots of music history in Florence, and also across the river in Muscle Shoals. Would be a nice "extra" if you stayed overnight or two.

nice little trivia there Mad ... never had a clue what Lynyrd Skynyrd was talking about until now. This place is historic .. so many legends recorded there, but this is my favorite.

Thanks for the music history lesson !!

Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers
And they've been known to pick a song or two (yes, they do)
Lord, they get me off so much
They pick me up when I'm feelin' blue, now, how 'bout you?

Sweet home, Alabama (oh)
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet home, Alabama
Lord, I'm comin' home to you
