I will take Deang Deang and a a thre point shooter. I am hoping that between Horne, Boyd and Copeland we can handle the ball and distribute.

We need multiple players who can drain the three. Taylor, JJ and hopefully another.

worked so well this season

I said it somewhere else, but I'd really like to see us go after Jalen Moore. Kid can fill it up, is a winner, and runs point. He's currently at Olney Central College. He played with Cooper Neese at Cloverdale. Yes, the same Cooper Neese who just made the all freshman team at Indiana St. Neese averaged 27.2 ppg, and Moore averaged 27.5 ppg during Neese's senior year. Outside of his height, I'm not sure why this kid landed at OCC. He sure looks like the type of kid who could help our team .

OCC plays today at 3pm in their region 24 tournament and is supposed to be broadcast on facebook.

For what it's worth, Muller wasn't at his Coach's show last night because he was on the road recruiting. He obviously couldn't say anything about it.

For what its worth, Muller isn't currently in the market for a big man as of a couple of weeks ago. Things could change, but he likes what we have coming back for next year on the big man side of things with Fisher, Idowu, Abdou, Taylor, and Jaycee. Interesting article on the shift in recruiting.

Adunk, what have you heard about Jaycee? I remember looking at his stats at San Jose st; didn't seem that impressive (but who knows how he'll play here). Is he like a defensive specialist?

From the pantagraph article when we signed him. He seems well balanced from article and the stats mentioned.
9.6 points per game while shooting 41 percent from the field, 34 percent from 3-point range and 81 percent at the free throw line. He also led San Jose State with 71 assists and grabbed 4.2 rebounds per game.

"I am very good at defense. I have a good IQ for the game," said Hillsman. "I can defend 1 thru 4, maybe the 5. I'll do whatever coach asks me to do for the greater cause of us winning."

Thanks BT! I obviously got it wrong. Looking forward to seeing what he can do next year.

As BT said via Jaycee. strong defense, high energy, VERY PHYSICAL. Player comp on this team would be Chastain, but more aggressive on offense, and not as scrappy. Expect him at the FT line a lot. He is 6'7, 213 but plays like 6'9- 240. Very good attitude from what I've seen too. Glue guy, does what the team needs and knows his role.

I'm glad to hear that he's more offensive than Matt. That's exactly what we need. If he beats out Chastain for a starting spot then he'll definitely be good. Either way they should compliment each other. Our site still has him at 6'6, so I'm hoping he grew an inch.

It appears LuWane Pipkins, 5'10 guard from UMASS will grad transfer at the end of this season. The Birds recruited him hard out of Chicago-Bogan. He has 1 year of immediate eligibility and has been a starter most of his career. This season he averaged just over 16 ppg, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists (3 TO). His % don't look great except he is 80% from the FT line.

Could be a nice add if he's a true PG, but looks to be more of an off the ball guy.

He is left handed so it seems he is right up Dan's alley.

Moore finished his freshman season up with a 29 point, 7 assist, 3 TO, 2 Steal, 2 rebound performance in a 94-91 loss. He was 14/15 from the free throw line.

Update: Pipkins is a "scoring point guard."

From a UMass article.

Pipkins’ absence will also take a toll on the guards, many of whom have succeeded this season as a complement to the junior. Players like Pierre must adapt their game without a slasher like Pipkins, who is unafraid to drive the lane and kick out for an open shot.

Sounds like something we sorely missed this year.
