I have always liked and thought very positively of President Bowman. HOWEVER his last 2 significant personnel decisions (Muller and Lyons) did not work out well, to say the least.

As I understand, he over rode the basketball coach decision then responded too quickly to the opening for AD.

I was wondering whatever happened to Gary Friedman and just looked it up. TBH, when I recall past ADs in my head, I sometimes forget he even existed.

What did Gary do that got him fired/not retained? He was eccentric, if I recall, but details otherwise escape me.

Also, is Jank still the only head coach to move on for a head-coach-in-waiting position?

Didn't he have an affinity for Louisville and went right back after leaving ILST? I thought I had heard he felt, at the time, a return to Louisville could put him as the front runner should their AD job open.
