Solid post. That team and 4-year run were good times to be a Redbird fan. If I remember correctly, KS referred to it as “ Catching lightning in a bottle” at some point post- Normal.
Good opportunity in Florida to see how the team fares against other relatively similar MM programs. 2 D1 games in, expected the L at St.Louis and the W at home against EIU, although by a bit wider margin. Would be refreshing to play well early in a year and get off to a good start. Need to win...
Good topic Popsto4. Lesser known example: Brian Kern from back in the day. Went from 3pts/2 rbs/game in ‘93-‘94 to 10.0/4.8 in ‘94-‘95, key part of that NIT club that started a nice 4 year run. Took him 3 years to make that jump, more than likely don’t have that luxury anymore with Freshman...
Realistic schedule thus far for where the program is in HC Pedon’s 2nd year. Still have probably 2-3 games left to schedule, another solid H/H would add some depth. I like the roster, win more than you lose, hopefully significantly more and start the trend upwards. I believe the ‘Birds are in...
When you look at the current state of the roster, depth at the 4 jumps out, at least to me. Foster would appear to be capable of filling that void and provide more physicality in the paint. Solid numbers and does his work 10-15 feet in. Hope they get him.
I gotta believe this years' squad is picked in the 9-10 neighborhood in the different preseason Valley projections. Deservedly so, hopefully they can surprise and get back to some respectability.
If I recall, DM said recently that the inability to play defense was the main problem last year. I...
I think it may look something like this:
Torres/Horne
Copeland/Reeves
Boyd/Chas/Hillsman
Bruninga/Hillsman/Abdou
Fisher/Rey
Sissoko
Donnelly
Miller
Beard
That may be the best staring 5 offensively, but can they defend, especially on the perimeter?
Lot of questions:
Is Horne good enough as...
Just going by his high school and juco numbers, played in 18 games at Northeastern with 0 starts, about 5 min/game, he at least seems to be capable in the assist department:
HS: 18 pts./6 rebs/7 assists/2 steals per game.
Juco: 13.7 pts./6.6 rebs/4.0 assists per game. Team leader had 5.1 and...
This has been touched on in previous threads, but wanted to start a new one specifically to this topic. As expected, in the current state of a limited roster, results have been up and down, to say the least.
If reports are accurate, we should be getting EC and David back in the near future...
