Couldn't have happened to a classier program. The clowns at Norfolk State got eliminated in their tournament as the #1 seed. Tough scene.

With South Florida losing today to UAB (NET 107) I think that they will not be getting an invitation to the NCAA tournament. If Florida Atlantic loses to UAB tomorrow should they get an at-large over Indiana State? I would hope not. That would open up another at-large spot.Indiana State should be in.
They should be in over Dayton.
Dayton lost in the A-10 quarterfinals. Would Indiana State even be in the conversation if they had lost in the quarterfinals (or even semifinals) of the MVC Tournament?
The American Athletic Conference is projected to get two into the tournament (Florida Atlantic NET 33 & South Florida NET 73). I can’t see South Florida getting in if they don’t win the AAC tournament. If they do, I can’t see Florida Atlantic getting in over Indiana State.
The Mountain West Conference is projected to have six teams selected into the tournament.
I only see two that may be more deserving than Indiana State (NET 30):
San Diego State ((NET 18)
New Mexico (NET 22)
I would consider these three for at-large bids after Indiana State.
Boise State (NET 26)
Nevada (NET 35)
Colorado State (NET 37)
This one is a tough one for me to call:
Utah State (NET 39) won the Mountain West Conference Regular Season Title.
Beat Fresno State (NET 232) in overtime in the quarterfinals.
Lost by 16 to San Diego State in semi-finals.
The next top three finishes in the Mountain West regular season all lost in the MWC tournament semi-finals:
#2 Nevada (lost to Colorado State)
#3 Boise State (lost to New Mexico)
#4 UNLV (lost to San Diego State)
FAU just lost to a 15-19 Temple squad. They probably don't deserve an at large but may squeak by given the success they had last year. With South Florida losing today to UAB (NET 107) I think that they will not be getting an invitation to the NCAA tournament. The win over Arizona will carry some weight.FAU just lost to a 15-19 Temple squad. They probably don't deserve an at large but may squeak by given the success they had last year.
Oregon State (NET 165) & Stanford (NET 113) both beat Arizona, but they are not in the tournament. The win over Arizona will carry some weight.

Huh? ISU beat Indy, they are not in the tournament. Indy screwed themselves when they lost to us and SIU. Beating Arizona will be HUGE for FAU and that's what I said, it will carry weight. Indy had their chance against Alabama and MSU. Couldn't get it done. Chance against Drake. Couldn't get it done. They should have been 30-4 and ranked at the end of the season. Is FAU even considered a Last 4 in or first 4 out? I have not even seen them in this conversation. I think Indy is actually more dangerous than Drake in the tournament field. But it doesn't look like they did enough. I was in the same camp when ISU was left out in 2017. They screwed up out of conference with Murray and Tulsa and then got humiliated by WSU twice.Oregon State (NET 165) & Stanford (NET 113) both beat Arizona, but they are not in the tournament.
Agree with most here except the real jackals are the big university athletic departments themselves vs the ncaa. They don’t give an arse about anyone except themselves and their own revenue growth. They will even sacrifice long historic conference partners/rivals and geographic proximity for their own gain as we have seen this past few years. Given the greed and $$$s involved it is possible we could see even the top of the big ten (tOSU, UM, Penn state, USC..etc) break to join the top of the sec (Texas, Texas am, Florida, Alabama, Georgia) for a true one and only super revenue conf come the next round of conf media negotiations.Everything and every decision in college sports is based on one thing, and one thing alone...$$$$$$$. The jackals at the ncaa are giving everything they can to the bigger schools in hopes of placating them and keeping them under their umbrella. How many billionaires say, "oh, I'm fine as I have enough billions, so please feel free to give the little guys some $$$"? Trickle down doesn't work in college sports. The "haves" make the decisions and if you don't like it, well, there always DII or DIII.
Ok now do the positive things Florida Atlantic did.Florida Atlantic just lost to Temple (NET 198) in the AAC semifinals
Florida Atlantic has also lost @ Florida Gulf Coast (NET 246)
Florida Atlantic lost at home to Bryant (NET 164)
Florida Atlantic lost @ Charlotte (NET 114)
Florida Atlantic lost @ UAB (NET 107)
So does Florida Atlantic deserve to get an at-large bid over Indiana State?

This is why you need to schedule better. ISU doesn’t understand that concept.Ok now do the positive things Florida Atlantic did.
Won at Loyola
Won at Virginia Tech
Beat Texas A&M
Beat Charleston by 16
Oh, and they Won at Arizona.
Does Indiana State have anything close to a win at Arizona? I’ll give you some of the other teams you’re arguing against. USF isn’t getting a bid, so it’s pointless to even mention them.
I get it. We want more teams from our league, but you picked apart the bad in the FAU resume and ignored the good. Makes your argument look great until someone actually sees what they did.
These P5/6 tournaments are just opportunities for the NC States, Oregons, 12 or 13 loss teams to knock off top ranked teams. The kicker is the top ranked teams don't really care. Purdue, Arizona, Duke, UNC, Tennessee, UK, Houston could care less if they lose these games. They are already locked in. While these other teams are going all out for sometimes the 3rd time with nothing to lose. The ACC 10th seed NC State wins the conference championship by winning 5 games in 5 days. Why should the league benefit by having an extra bid? NC State is still one game below 500..Maybe their leaque is not that good. NC State should take the place of one of their brothers.
I like it. They should bump the "last in" from their conference. The ACC 10th seed NC State wins the conference championship by winning 5 games in 5 days.
