How is Andrews looking? Better lateral quickness?
Andrews wont set any speed records, but he’s a man in the paint. Lewis is a good team leader. Burford moves at the speed of light. Sandage was steady as can be, deadly (5/9) from downtown.
This could be a fun season and surprise some Valley opponents.

I think our interior defense and offense are the areas that need the most work. I did think that Alex Kotov was physical. Petrakis seems to have the best offensive ability but it appears to be more as an outside shooter. He needs to be more physical. All could work on positioning prior to the entry pass.

I think Knight, Luke, and Lewis are are best rebounders. Knight has a nice body for his height.

The on the ball defense was night and day from the past few years. It was also nice to see players fight through screens.

All in all I was impressed with the teams first outing

Sandage (according to spell chek his name is Sausage) is a shooter, but won't ever be described as athletic. Good heady player. Burford is lighting quick.

I was too. And just what I thought. This team is loaded with shooters. Interior D will be the difference maker for this team. Malachi ended up with a thigh bruise and should be fine.

A lot of what I heard today is an improvement over last year. I’m highly encouraged. We need some guys to step up on that interior but I’m largely unconcerned at guard. Poindexter, Sandage, Burford. Hell of a back court.

So he’s the opposite of what we are used to. Muller always tried to teach the athletes to be ball players instead of getting some guys with fundamentals. I’m all for some athletic projects but you can’t build an entire team on it. This roster already has higher basketball IQ than the past 3-4 years.

And neither are lefties so they wouldn't have been recruited by Dan 😋 . I think we have a good core of guards. Need the bigs to start their offense In the paint every once and a while. Hearing we have a Krutwig coming next year so hopefully we can be more inside out next year

I like his game. Should be an easy injury to overcome

Yes, agree with a much different team. Buford quick, and Sandage is a good shooter. Kasubke looked like a good shooter as well. I would vote for more Lewis touches on offense. Petrakis at first looked ugh, but got warmed up and added offense, rebounding, and defense. Not so sure about Seneca - got burned on defense, did not block out much on rebounding and shot several air balls.

Sandage had a great game, but he had a HARD fall at the end of the game going up for a dunk that I don't think has been discussed on here yet. A player on Wooster fouled him and was given a flagrant 2. Sandage must have landed on his back, but he was close to landing on his head/neck. He was very fortunate to not have suffered a serious injury. We dodged a bullet.

Kasubke didn't shoot the ball well tonight but he seemed to do a lot of other little things. Some decent passes and he boxed out. It's nice to see contribution when you not having a great shooting night.

Remember they were playing a very vanilla offense too. Hard for some guys to get/find their rhythm. I’m sure the staff saw a lot of good and a lot that needs worked on.
